Introduction
Inclusive learning and teaching process is instrument in education institutions for
development of students. In addition to that, teachers are responsible for maintaining learning
environment within the educational institution. As per inclusive learning techniques, teachers
and students need to take equal part in education system in order to provide holistic
development. At the time of conducting the teaching procedure, students and teachers need to
think independently. Inclusive teaching and learning process creates diverse environment
within the educational institution so that future students can be attracted. Teaching courses
needed to be diverse to hold attention of the students. The present study will shed light on
inclusive teaching process of Brent primary school. Initially, in the study, factors of
inclusive learning and teaching will be discussed along with theories and models. In the
second part of the study, legislation of inclusive learning has been dealt with.

TASK 1
Define inclusive practice and evaluate the factors you considered in your designing of
inclusive teaching and learning during your teaching practise. (L.O 1.1)
Inclusive teaching process describes diverse needs of students belonging to various
backgrounds. Further, inclusive teaching process states that academic environment is needed
to be build to encourage the students. As asserted by Kidd et al. (2010), inclusive teaching
environment treats all students equally so that feeling of engagement, motivation and
achievement can be fathomed.
Inclusive teaching methods are crucial because of following reasons:
Teacher and student relationship
In the concerned environment, supportive relation is being built between students and
teachers so that teaching process is enhanced (Meichenbaum, 2017). Further, teachers use
digital technology such as projectors in order to uplift concentration level of pupils. Teachers
are also using figures and charts so that visual quality of students can be refined. For instance,
in Brent primary school teachers provide equal opportunities to normal and students of
special need so that no discrimination is being initiated. They create balanced curriculum for
normal and special need students (Meichenbaum, 2017)
Teacher- student’s participation
In inclusive academic environment, both teachers and students participate in activities so that
inter relation among them can be refined (Karmiloff-Smith, 2018). Frequently activities are
been organised by school authorities so that needs of special students can be fulfilled. In the
present educational institutions activities are launched as per the requirement of each students
so that no biasness can be created (Ashman and Conway, 2017)
Factors responsible for designing inclusive learning and teaching methods have been shed
below:
Educational Kit
In inclusive teaching process, lecture notes, case studies and assignments are needed to be
prepared based on students’ need so that motivation can be ensured among them. At the time
of teaching the students, digitalisation can be implemented within classroom teaching so that
retention level among pupils can be refined (Akçayır and Akçayır, 2017). Teachers also use
models and charts so that special students can visualise lessons learnt.

Uses of Assessment
In inclusive teaching process class, assessment plays a crucial role because it helps to
determine learning processes. At the time of conducting, the assessment questions need to be
framed as per requirement of all students so that they can fare well in the examination.
Further, models need to be analyzed at the time of preparing questions so that application of
chapters can be understood. Teachers need to analyse special requirement of students so that
teaching process can be improved. Result of students cannot judge their perfection level
within academics. It is suggested that teachers should not discriminate students based on their
results because it affects their mental condition (Meichenbaum, 2018).
Creation of inclusive environment
In academic institutions, inclusive environment needs to be created so that desire of special
students can be fulfilled. While talking to pupils, teachers need to be very clear and
transparent in their approach. In the first day of the semester, teachers should be clear with
their objectives so that fairness among students can be mitigated. The teachers need to be
clear about their rules and regulations for maintaining discipline within the educational
environment. The teaching process needs to be modern so that interest level of pupil can be
hold. For instance, the teachers can use projectors in order to retain interest level of students.
At the time of teaching special students figures and models can be used so that they can gain
deeper insights about their lessons
Funding
Financial condition of education institutions also helps to develop inclusive learning process.
It is very important to have skilled faculty members within a school so that students can
receive best quality of education. School authorities need to collect funds from stakeholders
so that their market position can be redefined (Forstmann et al., 2016).
Peer pressure
Peer pressure also plays a very important role in the education system because it poses
positive and negative effect on students. For instance, peers can motivate the students to
perform better. On contrary, at the same time they also create psychological pressure among
the candidates. Thus, their academic results get affected in long run.
Educational background
Educational background of students also affects their quality. For instance, if parents of
students are well educated they can motivate their wards to perform better in academics so
that they can have secured future. However, if the parents are not from educated background

then they cannot motivate their wards to excel in academics. Hence, their academic results
may be affected in long run.

TASK 2
Evaluate and analyse the impact of cognitive ability and environment of learning. (LO.
1.2)
As per the literary underpinnings of Ota and Saunders (2017), cognitive ability of an
individual is a capacity to perform any kind of activities with perfection. It is very important
that teachers need to understand mental stability of the students. For instance, while
communicating with the students teachers need to understand the need of the students so that
relation between both of them can be improved. Further, has mentioned Forstmann et al.
(2016) that mental condition of the students needs to be understand so that quality education
can be provided to the students. Some of the cognitive abilities of the students have been
discussed below:
Focus of the students
Students need to be focus so that they can learn their lessons in a systematic order. Further, to
improve focus level of individual’s teachers need to indulge student’s in-group activities so
that they can be acquainted to perform various activities within their curriculum. Special
students need to undergo counselling process so that their focus level or concentration can be
refined. However, students have a tendency to get distracted from academics because they are
moved from real to reel world. However, it is the duty of the teachers to bring their pupils
back to track so that their academic performance can be fathomed in long run.
Short-term memory
At times students suffer from short-term memory loss due to excessive mental pressure.
Therefore, it is suggested that teachers should provide extra pressure on students because it
can lead to depression. The lesson plan needs to be fixed as per the demands of students so
that their motivation level can be retained. Beside the lesson plan, physical activities need to
be included in the curriculum so that movement of motor nerves can be boosted. Timetable
needs to be prepared so that students get a chance to revise their lessons on daily basis.
Long-term memory
Long-term memory is the capacity of the student to retain lessons for a longer time. If the
lessons are of interest, students have a tendency to retain them for a longer time. Lessons and
chapters can be retained for more than 3 months if they are taught by using digital

equipments such as PowerPoint slides. Teachers can include playful activities in the
curriculum so that lessons can be retained for longer period.
Analytical skills
Analytical skills need to be developed among the students so that they can solve mathematics
problems successfully. In addition to that, it also helps to develop logic among students so
that they can differentiate between two objects. On the other hand, analytical skills helps to
solve daily problems of a student’s life in order provide holistic development. It also helps to
make better decision regarding academics of students. It conducts activities in a sequence
manner so that it can be completed on time. Further, teachers need to provide rewards to
students because of their quality performance.

TASK 3
Identify and explain how policy framework and organisational policies influence
inclusive practice in education (L.O 2.1, 2.2 & 2.3)
Effective organisational policy can be beneficial to ensure inclusive practice within the
organisations. The educational institutes need to prohibit discrimination among the students
so that they can be able to get their proper education. Equality Act 2006 states that every
individual needs to be provided with equal attention by their tutors (legislation.gov.uk, 2019).
None of them should feel discriminated due to their age, gender or cultural background. In
case of the schools of UK, it is necessary for the higher authority to ensure inclusive practice
within then school environment. The children having mental or physical impairment should
be provided with equal rights while they are coming to schools. In case of the children is
encountering different behaviour from their teachers or classmate then their self confident can
be lower and it would also affect their career. For this reason, the children should not face
any inequality from their teachers.
As per Children and Families Act 2014, the children with disability along with their family
members should get their access to the required support for living their life in a normal way
(aettraininghubs.org.uk, 2019). Children with special educational needs and disabilities
(SEN) can be provided with an “Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan” that would help
them to get their required services. The organisations can conduct meetings where the
teachers can be able to interact with the parents of the disabled children. During this meeting,
the teachers have the opportunity to discuss the learning plans with the parents so that the
learning needs of every individual can be fulfilled. In addition to this, teachers can ask for
information to the parents regarding the preference and dislike of their children so that the
education plan can be made in an effective way.
As commented by Avis et al. (2014), it can be said that the teachers need to make sure that
every student is getting their right to education as this is their human right. The schools in UK
need to make sure that they have effective policies related to inclusive practice so that they
can be able to offer learning services to the children with no discrimination. At the time of
making the organisation policies it is necessary for the management to include the rules and
regulations regarding the inclusive practice. Besides that, the role and responsibilities of
9
Document Page
every teacher should be mentioned within it. Any breach of these developed policies can lead
to legal issues against the individuals.
From the SEN Code of Practice 2014 it can be found that the individuals aging in between 0-
25 having disability should be provided with their educational needs. This is basically a set of
guideline in order to analyse the responsibilities of the local authority, teachers and principal
to introduce inclusive practice within the education system (gov.uk 2019). The learning plan
has to be developed based on the individual learning needs of the students. Emotional and
mental support need to be given to the children so that they do not feel indifferent among the
other children. Besides that, the teachers need to make the other students understand that they
need to treat the special students in a normal way. This practice would be essential to build
good relationship among the students and ensure that special students are feeling excluded
from others. On the other hand Cohen et al. (2010) argued that, not only the behaviour but
sufficient resources also required for inclusive practice. As per the inclusive practice policy
of UK Government the organisations need to make sure that they have sufficient financial
resources to arrange different types of activities for the special children.

TASK 4
a) Identify and explain at least five steps or strategies you will use to implement and
maintain a culture of inclusion in the school
Creating an inclusive environment can be beneficial to ensure that the students are getting
their required learning guidance without facing any discrimination. As stated by Crawley
(2010), the organisations need to set basic rules regarding the interaction with the students. In
order to improve the learning environment as an inclusion coordinator in The Brent Primary
School, I would suggest the teachers to interact with the students individually. For example,
if teachers have noticed that any of their students is behaving indifferently with the special
children then the teacher can talk to them regarding this matter outside the class.
I would encourage the students to develop their mindset to behave properly with every
student including the special child. For this reason, I will arrange special classes for the
learners where they will be provided with help to understand the way they need to behave
with the students dealing with disability.
For inclusive practice I would ensure that every student has equal access on the rights within
the school. I will advice all the teachers to help the students for better academic performance.
In case if any student come during lunch break to discuss about his performance then the
teacher should not refuse to help.
In addition to this, I will conduct parents- teacher meeting within the school. As stated by
Duckworth et al. (2010), parents can help the teachers to make learning plan by sharing
special needs of their children. In case of Brent Primary School, the teachers would be
advised to gather information related to the like and dislike of children from their parents and
then develop an appropriate learning plan for them. Besides that, transparency of information
has to be maintained among the teachers so that the learning requirements of students can be
met.
On the other hand, sufficient resource is also necessary to make a proper inclusive
environment (Boggan et al., 2017). I will make sure that the necessary equipments for
arranging the activities of the special students can be purchased by collecting funds.

b) As part of your role, identify three professionals you will or can work with to meet
the needs of students (L.O 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 4.2, 4.3 & 4.4)
As per the point of view of (), the teachers need to play an important role in case of inclusive
practice. In context of Brent Primary School, I will involve the teachers in making an
effective plan for inclusive practice. As the teachers spend most of time with students hence
they can be able to state about the required actions for this practice.
Principle will play the most essential role in context of inclusive practice. The principle of
this school will make enforce effective policies within the school environment so that the
teachers can be able to evaluate their own responsibilities. Moreover, principle has also need
to give strict instruction to the teachers to implement the inclusive practice. In case if any
inequality related incident will be occurred then the teacher would face legal issue for this
reason.
On the other side, Counsellor can be hired by the school management to analyse the
requirements the students (Alexiadou and Essex, 2016). I will suggest the school
management to take help of a Counsellor, so that it can be easy for us to evaluating special
needs of the disable children. Counsellor will have to interact with these children and then
they will gather information and share it with the teachers for the development of the
individual learning plan.
