Introduction
Knowing about the requirements of teaching and education in terms of providing the learners
with basic knowledge is considered highly important. The study discusses the different types
of techniques and methods applied by primary teachers to ensure proper development of the
learners in schools. It focuses on the use of assessment techniques for the students to
understand their preference in terms of studying. As a result, it enables them to set their
teaching goals and provided training to the students. The development of the scheme of work
will be done in the initial part of the study, so that the study can be completed in the right
manner. The study will depict the role of a primary teacher in Broadfields Primary School
that is located in the United Kingdom. The educational institution is known to assist the
learners in terms of completing their studies. Some of the relevant theories and models will
be used for analysing the role of the teachers and understanding the level of communication
that prevails in the school.

Task 1
Pedagogical principles relate to those fundamentals that relate to the field of teaching. There
are five key principles that are performed in good pedagogy, which includes:
Motivation – Motivation relates to the ability of the primary teacher being able to identify
what interests and wants small children to have. In accordance with the inclination of the
students, the teacher can help them better towards their studies and feel enthusiastic.
Exposition – With this procedure, a teacher at the primary level demonstrates the ideas on
the blackboard so that they have a visual understanding of the stories and thoughts being
given to them (Van Manen, 2016).
The direction of Activity – Through this process, the children are encouraged to take an
active part within Broadfields Primary School and the learning activities that occur through
book reading, interaction, recitation, and others.
Criticism – In addition to that, children must be taught how to receive constructive criticism
for their own betterment.
Inviting Imitation – Learning can be enabled through the method of informing students to
imitate the behaviour that teachers portray so that they are able to learn better mannerisms.
The effectiveness of the use of creative and innovative approaches has been illustrated
here:
Audio and Video tools – Learning can be enabled at a better psychological level if more
senses of the kids are involved. Audio sounds and pictorial representation have the ability to
draw the attention of children for a longer period.
Brainstorming – In order to encourage kids to think for themselves, brainstorming sessions
must be followed so that each child can come up with their own thoughts. In this process, an
idea can be built on one another through interaction (Brow and Lee, 2015)
Role-play – With the help of this approach, there must be a mix of storytelling and character
playing. This helps kids to interact more with one another within Broadfields Primary School
and helps improve communication.
Three two-classroom behaviour-management methods have been mentioned here below:

Skinner Operant Conditioning - This theory states that kids are able to learn about concepts
and topics through the process of stimulus and response. Within this theory, the reward is
given to children for the work they perform so that they work later (McLeod, 2015)
Glasser’s Choice Theory – This states that children function on five factors freedom,
survival, power, love, and belonging, along with fun. All these factors state different criteria
for an individual to learn. For example, through survival children are encouraged to be
competitive amongst each other.
Three practical examples of how the above aspects were utilized within my teaching
experience will be detailed here:
Example 1 – Within the classroom there are recitation is performed on a regular basis, at that
moment, inviting imitation and direction of activity is done so that children are able to
learn at a quicker pace.
Example 2 – Through educational movies such as Matilda, The Polar Express and others
being played within Broadfields Primary School, children might be able to learn through
audio and video tools.
Example 3 – With a student does well on his examples, rewards such as chocolates and
others might be provided so that, they feel simulated and desire to work for more rewards.

Use initial and diagnostic assessments to agree learners’ individual goals and learning
preferences
Introduction
This report analyses the importance of initial and diagnostic assessment for identifying the
learning preferences and goals of the students.
Initial and Diagnostic Assessment
In order to understand the requirements of the learners, initial assessment is done that allows
learners to study according to a proper guideline. However, with the implementation of
diagnostic assessment, teachers are able to understand the challenges faced by the students
and resolve the same in the course of their learning process (Brown and Hunter, 2018).
During the process of providing education to the primary students of Broadfields Primary
School, the teachers noted that the students found it difficult to understand their study
materials. As a result, they had to use some important strategies such as brainstorming, group
discussion, demonstration, and many more.

The above discussion indicates the implementation of initial and diagnostic assessment for
the students of Broadfields Primary School.

Learning Theories

Visual, Aural, Read/write and kinaesthetic sensory modalities are generally used for
providing learning assistance to the students. This is known as VARK model and it allows the
teachers to provide inclusive learning to the students in the primary school (Moayyeri, 2015).
Another theory is the Kolb’s theory that includes concrete experience, reflective observation,
abstract conceptualisation, and active experimentation. This theory helps to provide inclusive
learning to the students.
Communication Theories
There are two major communication theories that are essential for the understanding of the
classroom theories. These are verbal communication theory and non-verbal communication
theory. The verbal communication theory states the elements of coherency, which is
important for the learning of the individuals (Coupe and Porter, 2018). The non-verbal
communication theory states the use of sign language and assistive device for the individuals.
This smoothens out the understanding of the students in a learning environment (Dainton and
Zelley, 2017).
Conclusion
The report has given an account of the various theories that are useful for classroom learning
and development. It has assessed the various needs of the students and their impact on the

Analyse theories of behaviour management
Introduction
The report will analyze the significance of the behaviour management theories, which are
effective while tending to the understanding of the inclusive learning environment for the
student.
Theories of behaviour management
There are lists of behaviour management theories that are capable of affecting the role of the
pupils while undertaking a particular job role. The behaviour of a pupil is assessed by the
integration of the theories, which are important to analyze the theories of behaviour, which is
seen while creating a holistic and fruitful classroom environment. Therefore, there are
primary teacher, who would make the utilization of the theories to assess the importance of
teaching for disabled children.
Dreikur’s Social Discipline theory: This theory takes into account the four motivational
goals of a student and student behaviour. The students through the medium of this theory
seek attention revenge, avoid failure and gain power (Şahin-Sak et al ., 2018).
Skinner’s behavioural management theory: This theory of behaviour management takes
into account the use of the social learning theory and behaviourism. This theory takes into
account the use of good and bad behaviour consequences. It assesses the significance of
reward and punishment, which is important for growth an understanding of the classroom
(Crowley et al., 2019).
Canter’s theory: This theory is used to assess the assertive discipline, which is part of the
classroom. The teacher’s response to behaviour has a profound impact on the behaviour of
the students (Canters, 2018).
