Executive Summary
The primary aim of the report is to underline the manner in which my current internship
opportunity allows adequate scope for future skill development and career opportunities. In
association with this, it is essential to understand that the study follows a structured format
whereby the Introduction will be followed by the description of the current industry placement.
This is then followed by the planning of the second assessment, justification of how assessment
two will enhance my employability in the future.

2REFLECTION
1.0 Introduction
The internship opportunity allows me relevant experience to hone my skills for the long
run and ensure that I am being able to engage in effective operations in the future. The
opportunity as a restaurant manager in the restaurant has allowed me with an opportunity to learn
and exhibit greater skills. Moreover, in the future by undertaking these skills, I will be able to
improve my employability skills with the help of activities, reflection and discussion
(McQuerrey, 2017). Hence, this internship shall contribute towards my overall career welfare
and in consideration with this, the paper aims to provide a word plan for the second Assessment
and aims to reflect on my personal employability skills which can be enhanced by means of
professional competency portfolio.
2.0 Description of my current industry placement
Position:
At present I am a restaurant manager in Brisbane city. My main areas of responsibility
comprise of the employee motivation, delegating responsibilities, conducting quality checks and
to conduct regular sessions. As a manager, my duty also prevails to look out for the complaints
of the customers, the overall customer satisfaction and the general wellbeing.
The industry:
The industry in which I am currently employed in is the food and restaurant industry
which is a multi-billion industry in Australia (Kirk, 2017). The restaurant industry is very
popular in Australia due to the large tourist footfall and there are several cafes and restaurants in
Brisbane. The employment opportunities which are available to the different candidates comprise
of the serving staff, chefs, cooks, managers and dishwashers. As the Australian house life has
become more hectic due to increase in other industry and job opportunities, eating out has
become a regular trend and the industry has experienced considerate growth.
Position/role I aspire to in the future:
My Gallup test reflected that I have a knack for communication, responsibility and
positivity; I aspire to lead a 5 star restaurant some day and in the long run have a restaurant of

my own. I will be making use of my communication skills to manage the staff and related
operations. Additionally, I have strong learning and self-development skills as well in
consideration to the LPA test which enables me to learn new trends easily and adapt to the
external changes. Therefore, I aim to apply this ability in growing my own business in the long
run.
How I plan to respond to Assessment 2
Extensive research procedure would be required in order to undertake the assessment 2. In
association with this, I would formulate a topic and undertake permission from the University
administrators (Vault ,2019). The aspects or important themes which will be critically assessed
in the second assessment can be mentioned as follows:

The internships provide a considerate opportunity to learn along with studying and
provide a candidate with an overall experience which enriches their future employability. In
association with this, the second assessment will help me in becoming more organized, manage
responsibilities well and work on my shortcomings which comprise of the team work and solving
problems (Cottrell, 2017). Additionally, the skills relating to achieving objectives and adapting
to change will also improve.
Conclusion
Hence, this project followed a systematic format whereby my current status was reflected
along with providing a plan for the future Assessment 2. In association with this, the manner in
which my professional competency portfolio would be enhanced has also been discussed as these
initiatives will help in boosting my employability.
