Introduction
Tourism in India is one of the important aspects of the country’s financial growth. As this
industry in India, gave a large opportunity in the section regarding the employment. Tourism
mainly is a form of where people travel through various countries just cause of pleasure. Tourism
is a vast industry that attracts people, provide them offers and promise them to give a happy and
satisfying service during the visit. In the industry of tourism in India, have three types of tourism,
such as inbound where the people within the country itself visit other states in the sake of
pleasure and travel. International tourism is where people are coming from other countries to
India, in order to fulfill their pleasure and their travel satisfaction. In this research paper the
author vastly discussed all the statistics related to tourism in India, and analyses all the data in
order to provide a result regarding the topic.

Statistical analysis
The council of World Travel and Tourism Council have published data regarding the statistics of
Indian tourism. The study published that the total revenue of the tourism of India was 16.91 lakh
crore or 240 billion US dollar. This revenue affected 9.2 % on the GDP (Gross Domestic
Product) of India. In this study, the author of the topic has discussed various data like this related
to tourism, in this section. In addition, he or she provided analysis of those data as well in the
study.
Visitor market
The tourism market in India is largely influenced by the visitors who are coming from other
foreign countries. The visitors are very much attracted to the ancestral monuments of the country
as well as to the culture of India. This is one of the prime reasons that the tourists chose India
every time. Over 10 million people came to India in order to travel and visit the culture. The
number of visitors was higher than the number of visitors that came to India in 2016 that was
8.89 million.

their visits in the states of India. As the research, that the visitors of the foreign region visited
Maharashtra the most in fact in the percentage if 18.9 total. The visitors also checked other
countries as well such as Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and West Bengal, etc. The total number of visitors
is 2354983.

It is noted that in the year of 2011 the Kumbh Mela has witnessed the largest number of
people gathering in one area, 75 million of pilgrims in total.
The tourism and travel department in India also increased the employment rates to 40
million jobs that are provided by the department.

Tourism product, in this case, means the key elements of the area that is the attraction of the
country, which provide the most satisfaction to the visitors. The country is largely famous for its
cultural variety. As the country of India has a large population of approximately 2 billion in total.
Due to this number of people the country has a different culture in a different region. From
Hindu to Sikh to Muslims everyone lives in India in a harmonic condition, which makes the
country more attracted to the visitors. Apart from this, the country has a vast number of
monuments and places that attracts visitors. Such as,
India has Taj Mahal, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This was built by the
Mughals in the ancient age and has remarkable workings of marvel, provides enough eye
soothing elements to the visitors.
Apart from this, the country has lakes of South India to Hills of Ladakh to Sea of Goa. India
owns a rich culture that helps to attract more people towards it. India is the hub of Bollywood
and as it known to all Hollywood is the second most famous and accepted film industry of the
world after Hollywood.
