implementation. It introduces the importance of time management. It will familiarize with the
principles that are the essential requirements for effective management of time while studying.
The assessment focuses on the student’s life as it deals with the time management of study. The
principles will be defined keeping in mind the student’s life. Time management is the process of
disintegration of the time and arrange each piece of time into different activities. The activities
can be reading books, watching news, reading newspapers, sport activities or as per the
requirements of each individual. It is not the one time process. Therefore, students are required to
be persistent while implementing the time management process.

1. Effective time management and its Importance
Time management is the effective method to reach at the destination. In today’s competitive era,
every student desires to outdo others in terms of academia, sports, professionalism, morals, or
other related aspects of life. Every goal initiates with making a strategic plan. Certain principles
have been derived after extensive research, which makes the process of time management
feasible and applicable. These principles are described as follows:
Time schedule
The first element of effectively managing time is to write down every important activity allotting
specific time to such activities. It will develop into a habit with the passage of time. It is usually
said that a new activity takes at least 21 days for its conversion into a habit. Therefore, it is
mandatory to continuously implement the time schedule. Time schedules act as a foundation for
the process of time management. Atomic habits can build a new change.
Desirable commitment
The second important element of time management is to add loyalty and commitment to the
implementation of the time schedule. In case it has appeared that specific activity cannot be done
at the allocated time, it would be better to shift the activity to another slot where a desirable
commitment to such activity can be given. Commitment makes the effective execution of the
work which can turn into skill. Persistence execution of the task generates a particular skill in an
individual. Skill is something that lasts forever.
Focus vs. Time
The third element that an individual shall take into consideration is the focus. While
implementing a task, an individual opts for either of two criteria. The first criteria where a person
focuses on time i.e. particular task is to be completed within a given period of time allocated in a
time schedule. The second criterion is where a person focuses on the efficient fulfillment of tasks
within the given period of time.

creates chaos in mind and make person overburdened.

It has been seen that at the time of decision making, individuals react out of temper, frustration
and distress. It is better to measure consequences of the act before taking any decision. It will
help in making a person willing to control such anger, distress, or frustration and will be able to
focus on task completion more effectively. It is not mindful activity to act according to instinct.
As per the observations, this is the difference between the human mind and the animal mind.
Human has the ability to make control activities that he wants to do and rather than wants, such
individual can give priority to their need which is not the case with the animal mind.
Proper Organization
Another important element to properly implementing time management is the proper
organization of surroundings and internal comfort. It is necessary to arrange things in order
before a certain task is to be done. It will give a sense of comfort. It is also important to organize
internal comfort. As mind and bodywork together. Work accomplishment depends on the willing
completion of the task.
Flexibility
It is the misconception that in order to achieve something, one is required to make a strict and
stringent schedule. It is necessary to add some flexibility to the time schedule. Stringent time
management makes the person feel stuck and overburdened. It is necessary to take a small beak
within two subsequent activities. It should be noted that the break shall not be so long that it
would deviate from the actual purpose of time management.
Pareto’s Principle
Vilfredo Pareto was an Italian sociologist and economist who had propounded the theory of
80/20 rule. The rule says that 80 % of the result would be dependent upon 20% hard work. It is
the relationship between cause and effect. 20% is the cause and 80% is the effect. In order to
avail the effect of 80%, it is necessary to put hard work on 20% cause. An action plan is to be
formed and its effective completion is to be made. The process shall be continued until the final
completion of the task.
