Introduction
Academic and employability skills are essential
in overall development of an individual during a
course of entire life. Academic skills or school
skills are the approaches which are applied to
the learning and are essential in gaining success
at a higher level of education, getting an
employment and further useful throughout the
one's life.

SWOT Analysis
Strengths: Being a restaurant manager it is my utmost priority to serve the
customers in best and unique way. People come to enjoy a meal, to make them feel
like a home, my innovative and creative skills have made the experience of a
customer unforgettable (Bates and et. al., 2019). With many years in the sector I
have learned to provide a quality ambience to the customers so that the each
customer could enjoy their meal and takes good memory along with them. Another
important skill that have got me success is good communication skills. In an
restaurant many people from different culture come, my communication skills help
me to greet and welcome customers with warm sentences and gestures.

Weaknesses: In order to keep pace with changing environment it is essential to have a skills
that help in smooth functioning of business activities such as ICT skills or Strong planning
skills. Over the period of time I have analyzed that one of weakness is ICT skills or computer
skills. Computer plays a significant role in managing hospitality operations, such as making
reservations of tables, managing food inventory, records of employee data, preparation of food
bill etc. In order to be successful and competitive in a competitive world I want to improve
my ICT skills which will open a wide range of opportunities and will help in managing things
easily. One of the major advantage of computer skills is to get the work done on right time so
to avoid and delay and manage things at fingertips.

Opportunities: As a manager of restaurant, my responsibility is to look for a numerous
opportunities that would open a door for success and growth. As per the self assessment I have
revealed that one of the major strengths is communication skills, however my non verbal skills
are not up to the mark which have acted as one of the drawback for me. Non verbal
communication include body language, tone of voice, hand movements etc. Non verbal skills
are essential in hotel industry as it describes my overall personality traits. While working on
these skills I can greet customer, suppliers or even employees in a courteous manner which
foster long and healthy relationship.

Threats: Computer or ICT skills are significant in running hospitality business operations.
Lacking in these skills will affect my performance level in long run and if not addressed or
improved as per the time may turn into the threat for my future growth and success. In a
technological era, everything is moving around a technology, getting an computer skills will
help me in managing records of inventory, financial resources or human resources at fingertips
that will help in future strategic planning. Well maintained and structured reports will help me
in getting a clear picture of funds required to perform a daily business operations along with
resources and materials required to prepare food items.

seminars and personality
development programmes and
also take diploma in any sort
of computer course as it will

development . Taking lessons
from online and offline
classes, watching seniors and
other personalities already
working at same post.
Currently with the lack of
ICT skills I am unable
maintain proper records of
salary and wages of an
employee, stock
management, collecting
and making bill payments.
Due to the absence of these
skills I am unable to give
cent percent to the work
and I am obliged to be
dependent on another
person to conduct and
manage these operations.
My leaning and
successful
implementation of ICT
skills will be determined
by how effectively and
deficiently business
operations are managed
and executed. Proper
analysis of work force
requirement,
management of adequate

salary are the outcomes

skills which is acquires, learned and developed since the time of schooling, that are helpful
