client’s interview, 2 measures were being analysed which demonstrate the personality traits

Introduction to psychological assessments
Basically the psychological assessment is divided in to two sub sections of case study
and lab reports. The overall purpose of psychological assessment is to learn about an
individual themselves to answer general questions about their tendencies or attributes; the
report considers Holly as a client for the case study.
Rationale and aims
The case study aims to study the psychometric state and personality traits of Holly to
attain their academic goals. As mentioned in the interview, Holly intends to opt for either
honors or master post graduation; it shows that she aims to have an excellent academic
performance and has a desire to excel in academics. But she is not sure how she can attain the
goals by improving her judgments, personality traits and self regulated routine.
Hence, as a part of the case study, the report will correlate two measures or theories to
evaluate the personality and psychological well being of Holly. The report considers two
norms and measures “Academic Self-Regulated learning and Self-Efficacy” and “IPIP” as a
part of the case study. It enables Holly to attain academic growth by developing overall
personality as an individual.
The IPIP basically assesses the personality traits of the client. The IPIP includes five
personality factors, on which Holly will be analyzed. The overall judgment will come from
Holly’s interview and observation during the 5 minutes interview (Goldberg, 1992). There
are two factors which plays main role when it comes to ASLRL-SE “Academic Self-
Regulated Learning and Self-Efficacy” theory. First one is self efficacy; it is about their
ability to deal with available resources considering the current environment. Self regulated
learning helps her to develop the ability to organize her academic activities against social
expectations (Zimmerman, Bandura, & Martinez-Pons, 1992).

The interview
The interview has been taken for 5 minutes and discussed major issues and goals of
Holly’s life. The important thing to note is that she is career oriented person and socially
active individual. Currently, she is pursuing her graduation in psychology and plans to opt for
higher studies. Hence, she expects to have significant advice to improve her academic
performance and overall personality so that she can train herself to accomplish the master
degrees or honors’ admission.
Results and findings
 IPIP Personality assessment
The IPIP basically assesses the personality traits of the client. The IPIP includes five
personality factors on which Holly will be analyzed. The overall judgment will come
from Holly’s interview and observation during the 5 minutes interview. The five factors
are “Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Emotional stability (-Neuroticism),
and Intellect/Imagination.” As observed in the interview, Holly is likely to have high
score on Extraversion which is good in her part. On the other hand, she has a neutral low
score in agreeableness, it shows little bit of stubbornness in the way she carries herself.
When it comes to Conscientiousness, she scores very low in the particular attribute. She is
very good in intellectual ability which is very good in her part. This will help to give
better interviews for honors or masters. It is difficult to measure her emotional stability
because it’s highly depends on the particular scenario, but based on the short meeting and
interview details, she has managed her emotional stability in most of the cases, but when
it comes to extreme scenario, she needs to work on her part and be able to control the
situation.
 ASLRL-SE academic behavioral assessment
From this theory Holly will be able to analyze current academic performance versus
her expected performances. This measure will enable her to realize what she can do with
available resources and limitations she needs to consider in her future. Self regulated
learning helps her to develop the ability to organize her academic activities against social

expectations. Holly needs to work on both of the factors. She is more socially engaged
and having her health issues which may hinder her future expectations. However, she is
very well aware about it. She scores low on self regulated assessment. It is proved that
perfect combination of self regulated learning and self efficacy leads to have high score
on academic performance. Holly needs to put some effort to balance the score. However,
recommendations will be given in the end of the case study which helps her to manage
her routine.

She is advised to focus more on her academic excellence. It is important to read extra
other than routine lectures and notes to again extra ordinary results. She needs to put faith in
herself that she will be able to do it; she must be strong enough to beat her health issues and
gain confidence for her better future. She can carry her social work but the frequency to go to
church should be decreased. It is not essential to leave it, because that will helps her to
develop more emotional stability and consciousness in the society. Meeting people will help
her to develop her agreeableness. Charity and being a helping hand at Church will make her
socially active and this would indirectly bring peace to the mind which can help overcome
health issues as well.

Abstract
The report assesses an individual personality traits in align her expectations. The
report is prepared based on the interview which is done as a part of the case study.
Hypothesis will be prepared based on two theories adopted in earlier assignment which are
IPIP Big five personality traits model and ASLRL-SE academic behavioral assessment
theory. Holly has been considered as a part of the experiment. As a part of research
methodology, interview had been conducted for primary data collection. The report also
includes the literature review which would help us to support the findings and help in relating
the measures with academic performance of the student. Based on the analysis, we observed
that there is a significant relation between personality traits and self regulating measures with
academic performance of the student. Holly is advised to focus on self regulating activities
and plan its learning method in a way that enables her to get admission in honors.
