INTRODUCTION
Individual nursing care refers as recognising the people as a exclusive person by the
meeting requirements of this particular people at a specific point in the time compared a general
orthopaedic doctor’s perceptions of an individualised treatment with person’' perceptions. Health
is the situation of a physical, social or mental well-being in where disease or infirmity are the
absent (Arnholm, 2018). To get this, however, doctors must understand as well as support their,
demonstrating courtesy, patients, kindness or sincerity. This is based on one Assessment that is
Person-centred care and the role of empathy across the lifespan. For this assessment case study is
consider of a child that is explained below.
MAIN BODY
Assessment 3: Person-centred care & empathy role across the lifespan
Childhood
This is based on case study of John Yousif who is five years old boy and he fallen down
on his parent’s bed after a jumping up or down on bed, like a trampoline. John says that he was
Being like a Supermen. His arm was hurt and he won’t anyone to look at it. John hugs into either
one of his parents or cries a lot whenever he asked if his arm can be checked. Parents of John are
from the Sudanese background, they are living in Australia from past two years. Parents have
some English but they are not confident speaker. His parents are worried that doctors and
medical staff will think that they are neglectful parents.
As per above case study the role of empathy is very important because it assists to doctor
to build a trust connection with John in their care by the focusing on point of view of patient.
This strengthens the communication because doctor can gain better understanding of how john is
coping or what he is experiencing. Empathy helps to doctor to understand the feeling of patient
so that they can respond in appropriate manner as per situation. Communication by using the
empathy is very essential part for doctors as well as patient to understand that the problems of
patients and how they feel. Through this doctor can give best treatment for their better recovery
and they are focus providing comfort level to patients so that they can share each and every
issues for better treatment. The patient’s age is five years and he live with his parents in
Australia. He was playing on his parent’s bed and he fallen off from bed and his arm was hurt.

For John empathy is more important because children are mostly scared of hospital’s name and
they can’t share their problems in detailed manner and doctors also can’t help to patient.
To make a proper communication between patient and doctor, he need to talk less and
listen more so that doctor can understand the each issue. Apart from his problem doctor need to
ask him about their hobbies, share some jokes and etc, so that Johan can open up with doctor and
tell him each problem. To understand each issue doctor need to manage children in very polite
manner so that he can provide him best treatment for better recovery.
There are different factors which are important for patient’s life that are, Patient socio or
demographic variables, this factor influence the communication between the doctor and patient
as well consequently quality of medical service (Arnold and Boggs, 2019). Patient cooperation,
in this patient cooperation and involvement is required or it have impact on medical services
quality. Better cooperation provides best treatment to John and he will be recovering in less time
of period. Patient illness, there are many reasons behind the patient’s illness such as stress of
anything lack of sleep, lack of physical activity and many other. In case of John, he has no
illness but he scared of medical treatment. Due to this may be he cannot share all his problems
with doctor. Skills and knowledge is most important for patient’s life about their health and
condition so that patients can discuss in better way and make an effective communication with
doctor. In case of John his has no knowledge about this that is why his parents take care of john.
In children case their parents have huge role for better cooperation. Motivation and
satisfaction factor is most essential for patients as well as doctors, in any medical condition
satisfaction and motivation both are play important role in recover health in less time and also in
best manner. In case of John, for good treatment he needs a motivation factor because he is child
and to manage children is difficult task for doctors (Carmack and Harville, 2020). Other factor is
facilities and resources, both are important for patient’s treatment and their satisfaction. For
medical and hospital sector having advance resources and facilities is important such as
medicines, some test labs, machines for text, equipments’, cleaning facilities, room and bed
facilities and many more. In case of John, for his treatment he needs to go for X-ray so that
doctor can check the bones and suggest a best treatment for him. Health insurance, some parents
and patients have no savings and the medical condition is unpredictable. In current scenario each
one focus on health insurance for their medical expenses and government also encourage to
society to take insurance plans as per their income status (Boozary and Shojania, 2018). In this

people require to pay some amount on monthly basis and they get some limit for their medical
expenses.
In case of John, he need to discuss to his parent’s first so that parents can convey doctor in
better manner because children are not convey all issues in proper manner and recovery takes
time. For this arm, his parents need to go for X-ray so that doctor can understand what actual
problems are and what treatments for child for his recovery are.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded the above assessment, it is explained and in first assessment there is case
study of child, he fallen down from his parent’s bed and his arm get injured. To manage children
doctors need to focus on communication part because children are not share their issues in proper
manner and have lack of express skills. In this case his parent’s need to understand his child so
that they can convey all the issues to doctor and then he can start the best treatment for child. To
manage child there are lots of factors and ways which are helps to doctor to make an effective
interaction with children.
