The project titled ‘Strategy Business Leader’ was immensely learning for all of us. It
taught ways in which tasks related to the corporate governance structure of a company can be
conducted. It also helped to learn a few techniques usefulfor a specific purpose, such as how
team members can be communicated seeking assistance. I personally learned so many things
from being a part of this group work. I find ‘Kolb’s Reflective Model’ as helpful in presenting
my learning and contribution to this group project. Hence,

The above figure is a depiction of Kolb's reflective model. The model is divided into four
distinct components. These are concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract
conceptualization and active experimentation.
Concrete experience: I was confused earlier on how to conduct the task and to extend my
contribution to the project. I never did a task on the corporate governance structure before
becoming a part of the project work on the corporate governance structure of Tesco Plc. So, I
was a bit confused, like where to start from and how to get the required information. The other
group members were also doing it for the first time. I had required the earliest support on the
task. However, I did not have that moment of time. This is where the necessity to look back to
concrete experiences of doing other tasks in the past, stuck into my mind. Soon after it happened,
things started becoming easier for me. I learned from my previous experience of tasks that I
should focus on gathering adequate information on the corporate governance structure of Tesco
Plc. A whole bunch of information is necessary to select the most appropriate one and to proceed
in the right direction. In shortlisted a few pieces of information as being helpful in my purpose.
The shortlisting was done accurately to confine my focus just on the critical assessment of the
governance structure of Tesco. The selected list of documents helps me understand the actual
issue faced by Tesco Plc in relation to the management of corporate governance.
Reflective observation: The moment I decided to look for a few related documents, my
challenge appeared less critical to me. I was feeling fully refreshed as I could now see a path to
follow. The whole bunch of information that I could access in these documents, were helpful in

understanding the corporate structure of Tesco Plc. These documents guided me not just on
related things but helped me as well to figure out the management issue faced by Tesco.
However, I still need to learn how things can be presented in an effective manner. I myself
believe that I accurately noted down and presented the required pieces of information. However,
to be well versed in doing a critical assessment of a company I still need to learn quite many
things. For example, I should know-how solutions to an issue can be recommended in a few
times instead of stretching it unnecessarily.I was feeling helpless at the start of the project due to
a lack of knowledge on the subject task. It is due to the reason I had no idea of where to head for
looking the help. In the future, I believe I would have more confidence in doing a task of similar
nature. I behaved immaturely because I had no prior experience of doing such a task. Now, I
believe that things as such this won’t be repeated anymore.
Abstract conceptualization: The way I handled the project and contributed to the group
could be improved by adhering to a few strategies. My handling capability of a project will
become richer if I outline the project requirements and understand the project’s central theme.
This can drastically improve my learning capability and should save time invested unnecessarily
on understanding a project. The project completion time will become shorter. The results will be
effective also. For contributing effectively to group work, I can take up the lead role in
explaining my contributionsto it and ways to lead things to attain productive results. We would
avoid clashes for ideas as it unnecessarily affects the overall time for a project. We would rather
look for the best of ideas. As collaboration is key to group work, we will ensure that our group
roles and contributions are known to each member. This will help to avoid any confusion created
from the diverse roles of group members and would rather help to follow a systematic approach

towards project handling. It is also important that everybody does their work perfectly.
Individual work should not be kept pending for the others. As I learned from my experience of
the project,a lack of coordination between the members affects the overall effectiveness of a
project. It results in unnecessary project delays, ineffective outcomes, exhausted team
environment and so forth.
Active experimentation: The lessons that I could derive from doing this project would
help me on many future projects. In the next project, I would rather focus on developing a team
environment within the group, communicating the project goals and discussing the individual
roles. These initiatives would not just reduce the group conflicts, but would also ensure a robust
approach to project goals. The project will be delivered on time. The quality of the work will
also be good. Such productive results would help all of us in getting more new projects. By being
part of the diverse projects, I would help myself on improving my project handling skills and
experience. My project handling capability will grow leading to an effective understanding of the
projects. I would have better control of diverse project problems and the solutions. With
successive projects, I would be able to develop the leadership skills provided if I implement the
lessons learned from this project. A leadership skill would help me take up challenging tasks and
experiment with ideas while being practically into the work. This is something all of us trying to
attain during our academics.
