INTRODUCTION
Individual reflection is the personal reflection on experience, feeling and events. Gibbs
Theory helps to identify individual experience during a specific situation and it is being used in
the report to give reflection on learnings from macro and micro factors. Environmental scanning
is a way by which company gather different information from the surrounding environment (Adji
and et.al., 2018). The individual reflection is based on group work which was done for specific
task that is environmental scanning. The reflection will outline learning of individual from macro
and micro analysis. Further, the discussion will also outline about individual learning from group
work like enhancement of interpersonal skills.
MAIN BODY
Description: -
In accordance with group work on Environmental scanning I learnt that micro and macro
analysis is very important for the organization in order to gather the information about the
events (Salcedo, L.L., 2016). Basically, I learned that there are two types of environment
one is internal and another is external. Strength of the firm helps to identify the positive
points of the firm and how the company can work to increase productivity and maintain
consistency for long period in the organization (Phadermrod, Crowder, and Wills, 2019).
Further, I learned that outlining weakness with the help of Swot analysis helps to know
about the reasons why firm is lacking and derives need of improvement. I get to know
about various opportunity for the firm and that can be analysed to bring competitive
advantage for the firm and there are threats that can affect growth of the firm and can be
stopped with proper strategy so that they cannot harm the firm's profitability. For analysing
external environment of the company Pestle analyses have been conducted (Perera, 2017).
For the same I and my team analysed different political factors that may affect the firm.
Not only the political factors, but we have also analysed different economic, technological,
social, legal and environmental factors that may affect the organization in many ways. I
learned from this analysis that all the factors are affecting business. Feelings: -
I had a great experience while working in a team as I got to know about many new
things. Like was not aware about the legal and environmental factors affecting the organization
but after the study I got to know about all the respected factors. Working in team developed my
communication skills as we all worked very hard to make the report effective and informative

(Hardcastle, 2016). Further, I learned that importance for collecting data from various sources
like we collected data with the help of different mediums that is internet, websites and different
social sites. After collecting information, me and my team members communicated and
transferred information to each other with the help of emails. By working in team, I have
overcome my hesitation as previously I was not able to speak out my opinions but with the help
of my group members and their support now I am able to express my views effectively.
Evaluation: -
From the group work I have evaluated my good and bad things. There were situations
when me and my team was not able to work in coordination, but we worked hard and were able
to complete our report on time with a proper analysis on environmental scanning (Hebert and
Hauf, 2015). Previously my thinking was that I am very good at making decision but as I work
with my team, I understood that improvement is required. However, from group working I
evaluated that I can improve my decision-making skills by sharing my opinions and ideas.
Analysis: -
According to Chopin and Singh,(2015), from group work on environmental scanning I
analysed that macro and micro factors play a very crucial role for the making an effective
strategy for the development of the firm. SWOT analysis helps in building strength of the
organization and it helps in identifying core competencies so that an appropriate strategy can be
set to achieve the business objectives. On the other side, macro environment can be analysed
with the help of PESTLE analysis which is strategical tool external environment scanning(Adji
and et.al., 2018). It helps in deeper understanding of the environment that is directly and
indirectly affecting the business growth. It also helps to identify the threats so that they can be
minimized to bring opportunities for the firm. Both the factors plays an important part to bring
competative advantage for the firm.Conclusion: -
From the learning from group work on environmental scanning I would concluded by
stating that I have learned about the macro and micro factors affecting growth of the
organization. I have analysed different skills which are essential for individual to work in a team
and make good decision. There were many things that needed to be improved to bring positive
results. I feel somewhere in group work I was lacking communication like I was unable to
express my ideas and opinions for which I feel I need to focus on working on my interpersonal
skills.

Action Plan: -
In near future, I will focus on improving my team working skills that will help me out to
work more effectively as now I am able to work patiently and easily make decisions with respect
to solve problems. I will focus on developing my communication skills that will help me in my
near future. For improving my communication skills I have started reading books and interacting
with people and this will be helping me in my near future. The main things I learned by working
in team was conflict resolution as many a time there was a situation where we faced lots of
problems in finding information and analysing it, but me and my team members worked hard and
always come up with a good solution. These all learnings will be very helpful in future and have
enhanced my working skills.
CONCLUSION
The individual reflection concluded about learning of from group work on environmental
scanning which helps the firm to identify the opportunities and threats coming towards the firm.
Finally, it about improvement in skills of person from working in team.
