INTRODUCTION
Individual Reflective Writing basically comprises of a discussion about the personal
reflection based on some particular stimulus or past activity. Writing of personal reflection
provides an effective way of learning by the means of evaluation of thought, feelings and events
take place during an assignment of group activity (Aiken, 2018). The current part of the
assignment consists of an individual reflection writing based in the experience get during the
group discussion based on the topic of global policy and strategy. Use of Kolb’s Learning Cycle
is made under current reflection writing to have a more systematic and clear evaluation and
analysis of personal development and experience.
Main Body
The current reflection writing is based in the learning and experience gained by me during
the current group work in which I had also taken part to develop better understanding about the
global strategy and policy of a selected company i.e. Syngenta. In order to have a systematic and
more valuable process of learning along with having an ongoing nature of learning use of Kolb’s
Learning Cycle is made by me (Kolb's Learning Styles and Experiential Learning Cycle, 2017).
The four main stages of Kolb’s Learning Cycle are discussed below which are comprising an
evaluation of my personal experience and learning during the course of this group work.

Concrete Experience
The current reflection writing is based in my physically experience gained while taking
part in current group work based in global strategy and policy and have focus on selected
organisation, Syngenta which is a global company based in Basel, Switzerland which operates as
a producer of agrochemicals and seeds (Thomas, Rafie and Williams, 2016). Thus, current
reflection is based in the knowledge and experience gained while making evaluation of the
strategy adopted and lead by Syngenta to become more crop efficient and rescue more farmland
along with helping biodiversity to flourish and empower smallholders framers. My feeling and
personal implication during leading current group work was positive and I also felt enthusiastic
to get better knowledge about the farm practises and other global strategy and policy of Syngenta
to have better understanding to enhance productivity and efficient of a farmer and smallholders
of land along with the farm workers.
Reflective Observation
The current group activity was provided me with many good and knowledge experience
that has enhanced my overall learning and knowledge on the topic of global strategy and policy
based on the research on Syngenta. It being a group work, thus to maintain proper coordination
and balance among the team members was our first priority so that a proper decisions is made to
properly bifurcate and divided role and responsibility of each members. Further, it has been also
keep in mind that the role and duties must be assigned to each member as per their personal
competencies and skills to ensures better performance. Effective decision and strategy
formulation were lead by me have proper simulation in team. Use of Tuckman's team formation
strategy was adopted by us to ensure proper de elopement of an effective team to accomplish set
objectives and target in a better way. The main work and task for completion of current group
work comprises of better evaluation of various strategy and global policy made by Syngenta to
have more productivity at farms filed through leading production of better seeds and other
required resources. Thus, during the course of current investigation, I was having a positive and
optimistic inner feeling generated by the thinking of getting better knowledge and information
for my personal and professional development. Further, the current assignment and group
activity also lead an enriched experience through leading better feeling and experience about
team work and setting coordination in team members. Further, a detailed research and evaluation

of strategy of Syngenta was also made which lead to enhanced and better professional and
personal growth and development for me.
Abstract conceptualisation
The current group activity was a very knowledge and learning journey for me that has lead
to many good and knowledge experience for me. The current activity was based on the
evaluation of global strategy and policy of Syngenta in order to evaluate the reasons the had
made this organisation successful at global level. This assignment lead to a better enhanced
information about the steps taken by Syngenta to make crop more efficient in order to increase
the average productivity and crop production by at least by 20% without making use of more
land, water and other inputs (Scott and Rajabifard, 2017). The evaluation of these strategy
adopted by Syngenta has lead to better understanding in me that what steps could be taken as
global strategy and policy to gain better competitive strength and business position at global
market which enhanced my personal skill and competencies and make me more able to have
better growth opportunity for me future. Further, a detailed research and evaluation was also
made by me on the selected organisation Syngenta to get better information about the ways to
help smallholders and workers along with steps to flourish biodiversity. Beside this, it was also
observed by me that Syngenta has adopted a home strategy which is its main strategy to get
better position and results at global world (Larres, 2017).
Further, a reflection could also be made by me that the current group activity leads to a
more detailed knowledge about integrate, innovate and outperform strategy that forms a vital part
of global strategy and policy to have better competitive strength and enhanced business position
at global market. A reflection and evaluation of my own personal experience could also be made
that a better understanding about leading coordination and balance among team members is also
learnt by me. Development of enhanced managerial and communication skills was also lead by
current group activity. A better understanding about the ways through which a team bonding and
better coordination among team members had been also drawn by me from current group
activity.
I had gained an effective personal experience about the ways and skills that are required
to coordinate and effectively manage a team. I had learnt that a proper leadership skills and
managerial competencies are vital to keep a balance among efforts of all teams members while
working in a group activity. Thus, an optimistic and positive experience is gained by me that lead

to improved managerial and communication skills in me. Further, the use and implication of
Tuckman's team formation was also effectively done by me to ensure proper development of my
team by the way of proper bifurcation and division of task and roles among different team
members on the basis of their skills and competencies. This ensures more efficiency and better
performance by me and my team to have better evaluation and understanding about various
aspects of global strategy and policy that is adopted by Syngenta which ensured development of
better skills and competencies in me for become more professional through improved learning to
become a reflective manager.
Beside this, it has been also experienced by me that effective communication and proper
leadership based on democratic nature are viable strategy to lead and ensures better coordination
and work balance in team members through offering equal chances of involvement and
participation to all team members which ensures and leads to a more efficient and better
managerial working during a group activity. Thus, during current investigation better
communication skills and leadership traits were also developed by me to have better professional
skills and learning in order to acquire reflective management in future.
Active experimentation
The learning and experience gained by me during the course of current group activity
comprise of better communication and managerial skills along with effective team biding and
research competencies together with better leadership and other interpersonal abilities to work
effectively in a team. it has been reflected by me that adopting Tuckman's team formation was a
viable way to build and lead an effective team but in future implication and adoption of Belbin
team role could also be made by me to have better formulation and management of team. Beside
this, the improved communication and managerial skill would lead to better development of
personal and professional competencies to achieve higher post and better career in future. I had
also learnt that time management and effective communication are vital for success and efficient
completion of a group activity. Thus, use and implication of better time management strategy
and effective modes of communication would be learnt by me to accomplish and have better
reflective manager in future.

CONCLUSION
On the basis of current reflection writing it could be concluded that implication of Kolb’s
Learning Cycle is effective way to have a systematic and ongoing reflection on learning process
which comprises of four main stages. It has been also concluded that effective communication
and leadership skills are needed to set a coordination and balance among members of team to
accomplish and complete a group activity. At last, it has been also summarised that better
managerial learning and development is insured by reflecting writing through facilitating better
evaluation and analysis of personal experience.
