Introduction
Project management refers to the activity in which all the tasks and activities are being
aimed towards completion of desired goals and objectives at a certain time period and within the
use of resources. It can be in the firm of document in which all the stages of a project plan is
being encrypted. A manager of a particular project can develop better understanding of the
project aims and also aids towards completion of given project with effective use of resources
(Carvalho and Rabechini, 2017). The present report is an evaluation of project 1 which was
based on developing a software. In this regards company named, “Megabyte Software Inc.”
initiated a project with name of “Colour Printer Driver Software Project”. In the below report
presentation of various project planning stages are being highlighted with taking the relevance of
activities considered in the previous project task (Monteiro, 2017).

Part 1: Initiation
Advantages and disadvantages of outsourcing of the given project
Outsourcing a project refers to transfer of project tasks to any specialised industry or
organisation so that the given firm could focus better on its main operational objectives.
Outsourcing a given project might be prove useful however comes with several challenges or
issues that lead to the technique disadvantage. Possible advantages and disadvantages of
outsourcing, “Colour Printer Driver Software Project” could be (Pollack, 2017);
Advantages
Cost reduction: By outsourcing the project to a outsourcing industry ca possibly reduce
the cost of production and hence lead to cost reduction techniques for a business firm. The
possible reason for the said element could be because of undertaking respective project tasks in
the project firm with proper management techniques and professionalism. In respect with the
given firm as, it want to focus better on their main project tasks can opt for such outsourcing
industries. This might be helpful for attainment of desired goals and objectives of the primary
company in the most appropriate manner or the desired one.
Quick approach: By opting to techniques of outsourcing the project task an organisation
could complete the outsourced task in given given timeline with almost no chances of delaying.
In context of the given project of software development given managers of the project firm can

outsource basic task to be conducted through different industry. This will enable them to focus
better on their main project activities and thus, could aids towards completion of the given
project at the defined time period and given resources.
Professionalism: Though outsourcing a task primary organisation can gain advantages
relating to professionalism of work. This will enable managers of the firm to produce better
quality of outcomes with investment of desired amount of resources (Maqbool and et. al., 2017).
Disadvantages
Lack of coordination: One of the foremost disadvantage that could be identified in the
process could be lack or less coordinative efforts in the business firm. This is because of
separation of an organisational task from another organisation. It is the possible reason for the
given disadvantage.
Less control: Due to the approach of outsourcing there is a less control over project
activities as, this could be due to interference of outsourcing industry. There exists different
organisational policies between two organisational firm which might create hurdle for
completion of the given project.
Conflicts: The given approach of outsourcing might be the possible reason for conflicts in
the given organisational firm. As working in the distributed workflow it could lead to duplication
of efforts which might lead to conflicts in the specified organisational firm.
Part 2: Planning
WBS
WBS is the technique through which various organisational tasks can be break down at
the possible deadline. This develops better potential of the business firm to perform its given
tasks and to promote use of effective ways. In the evaluation of the approach the firm gets a
better competitive advantage as the use of the\ technique provides with better opportunity for the
given firm to grab goodies delivered from its external environment. In context of the given
project i.e. “Colour Printer Driver Software Project”, managers of the given company Megabyte
Software Inc. have breakdown the structure of the project on the basis of specialised
departments. This will enable the project managers to carry the project work in the best way
possible and will also define effective ways to overcome various challenges or issues faced

strategy could be adopted in an organisational firm (Serer Figueroa, 2021). The management
strategy for the given project plan concentrated on impact and influence of various stakeholders
caused in the organisational firm. In this tactic it included managing several stakeholders of the

business firm to ensure effective working of the project tasks. As the respective project is the
collaborative task managers of the firm have to enable effective working of the project for
completion of desired goals and objectives of the project. Appropriate management strategies in
the given project helped towards development of appropriate techniques and enabled working of
the project activities as per the desired goals and objectives of the project.
Part 3: Execution
Milestone report for the project based on information or functionalities you have identified.
The milestone report is a documentary project that shows the progress of report and
compares it with desired project assumptions taken at the initial stages of the project. Such
reports develops better undertaking of a given project task and also is helpful for enabling
effective controlling and monitoring techniques. In regards to the given context, developing a
software project which is an inclusion of several stages in this project developing a milestone
report will prove to be an important task.

Conclusion
From the evaluation of above report project it can be concluded that, various functions
and efforts are being produced by a project manager with respect to develop an effective working
on the project site. In the presented report evaluation of several aspects of project stages with
inherit challenges experienced for its completion are being highlighted. In addition to this by
adopting to several project management techniques project managers were able to complete the
given project. The use of documents like WBS, milestone report and many more advanced the
given firm for completion of the project. Lastly, it can be said that uncertainties in regards to an
important employer in the project was being replaced by recruitment of new staff through which
scope of the given project was somehow protected.
