INTRODUCTION
Individual team and organisational development are important for any company as it enables
the company to effectively and efficiently achieve its organisational goals and objectives. All
these can be developed by using various management tactics. Easy Jet is a famous UK brand.
The company was incorporated in 1995. And recently it is the second largest airline in all over
the world. This study will analyse the skills and behaviour of HR professional. The study will
also cover different learning theories which can be applied by any organisation along with
differentiating between training and development, organisational and individual learning. The
assessment will demonstrate a whole understanding of high performance working along with its
contribution in the employee engagement and competitive advantage and also evaluate different
approaches that can be followed by the company in order to improve the high-performance
culture and commitments in the organisation.
TASK 1
Knowledge, skills and behaviours required by HR professional
HR is responsible to manage “the most dynamic and unpredictable component of
organisation”, that is “Human capital” working in it. This function required more behaviour
proficiency than technical and educational knowledge. It does not mean; HR manager don't need
specialised knowledge. Job demands personnel resource management skill, knowledge of
psychological models and employee welfare-oriented government law and reticulation. Easy Jet
expects following knowledge, skill and behaviour in its HR
Knowledge
HR has to be familiar with principle, models, theories, tool and techniques related to
Human resource management such as recruitment and selection methods, training
speciation, informal meeting, etc.
Fluent, clear, correct spoken and written English helps HR to communicate with people
from different language and background. High and low vocabulary can create language
communication barrier.
HR manager neds to be aware about organisational information vision, mission, culture,
business strategies to align employee activities and performance accordingly (Bolden,
2016).

Understanding of business management concept like leadership, teamwork, operation
management, conflict resolution, change management, resource management assist in HR
policy formulation.
Easy Jet manager must have awareness of government regulations, legal codes, agency
rules, grievance referral mechanism and court procedures. Employee appointment letter
contain all legal compliances made for employee interest protection (Dong, 2017).
HR able to identify nature of human behaviour because of knowledge of Psychology.
Computer literacy is most essential requirement to work, because Easy Jet use integrated
information system, cloud storage, CRM, HRIS, RFID in logistic.
Skill
Negotiation skill is required to coordinate and cooperate with trade union, employees,
government and other stakeholders.
Active listening render empathy, deeper understanding of surrounding and best decision-
making skill.
Conflict management skill contain unbiased listening, Compromising, Collaborating, etc.
HR re-arrange relation, structure so that conflict can be avoid. For instance, marketing
team of Easy Jet had frequent interpersonal issues occurred in team, which is solved by
arrange informal get-together in weekends.
Performance management is done by motivate, influence, design effective training and
development session. These functions required strong problem identification skill.
Scheduling skill uses in prioritizing tasks and assign weightage to task.
Job design skill comprises human capital need assessment, identification of employee
skill, knowledge and experience requirement which is aligned with job role.
Foremost skilled in HR manager is decision making skill because Easy Jet manager has
to take many complex decisions with time constraint. For this function, analytical skill,
logical thinking, foresight, has to strong, data analysis, report reading, case study
interpretation helps (Huber, 2015).
Communication skill serve better interpersonal relation and interaction with human.

in all over the world. By using various strategies and models company has achieved a second

Kolb's learning cycle
According to Kolb, individual learn something new form every day, by experience. Theory
combines four kinds of personality style and (4) learning stage of learning with each other.

involvement. This stage emphasises more on learning by doing than learning by watching
and reading. Easy Jet manager render all the accommodation and support to employee,
who belongs to this stage.

Reflective learning – at this stage of learning, individual and the whole organisation
reviews their own experiences, observe them and perform their own work as per the
reflection of their experiences. Manager of Easy Jet helps its employees to review their
own experiences, by adopting self-evaluation strategy in the organisation and make its
employees to evaluate their own performance and identify the areas where they need to
develop themselves (Salas, 2015).
Abstract conceptualisation – after observing themselves, employees become able to
learn from their own past experiences. It provides an opportunity to the employees to
identify their areas of strengths and weaknesses. Through which they can be able to get

This learning cycle was developed by Peter Honey in 1986. This theory was
developed by Peter through inspiring from the Kolb's learning theory. Peter developed a
questioner theory in order to make people conscious about their style of learning to
develop themselves, for making them smarter in decision making. Theory provides 4
styles of learning as under: Activists: this category involves those learners who learn
from their own performances. They perform their own task, solve all the problems by
themselves and learn from their own experience. Easy Jet manager helps them in learning
by providing learning activities like brainstorming, group discussion, problem solving,
role pay activities, etc.Theorists: employees of this category, need some theories and
model to learn about performance of their tasks. They do not perform any activity
without using any theory, idea or specific model. Manager of Easy Jet helps these kinds
of employees by providing them specific theories, goals, statics, quotes etc. in order to

this category, learns from their own experiences. These individuals have capacity to put

individuals observe many things from side-lines. They used to observe various actions of
others people around him and their results, and evaluate all the actions, and conclude the

conducting coaching, training and development programs for them in the organisation.
Peter suggests the employees to observe themselves first and identify their own category. So that

increasing the productivity and profitability of the company.

Over past few years, Easy Jet has adopted High performance working tactic in its normal
course of business. It is helping the company in enhancing engagement of its employees into the
organisation in the following way:
This tactic makes the HR manager of Easy Jet to develop an employee friendly culture in
the organisation. It helps the company in increasing the interest of the employees into
