INTRODUCTION
Response to a specific stimulus is called Individual Reflection. In this report, I will write
and explore mine as well as my team member’s personal experience, opportunities which we got
during the presentation or project and many more things. I and my team were asked to prepare a
group presentation, so in this individual reflection, I will explain all the experiences, thoughts,
emotions of mine and my team members while preparing the same. This reflection will explain
all my personal experiences, learnings throughout the preparation and while giving presentation.
MAIN BODY
What Went Well
One of the most positive things that happened during this presentation preparation was
formation of a team who were working together with a single goal in mind, helping each other
and giving their best with full energy to excel the presentation. As formation of a good team is
one of the most important things in a project’s success or in its failure, so I followed Tuckman's
theory for development of our team (Rosseel, Carette and Anseel, 2016). According to this
theory, in the forming stage, everyone was dependent on me as I was the team leader and so, I
explained them the aim of team and roles and responsibilities of each member. In storming stage,
as every team member used to discuss their point of views, it increased the clarity of purpose and
were able to move together towards team’s presentation goal. In norming stage, all team
members were aware of their roles and responsibilities and knew what they were doing. If I as a
group leader made any decision then all the team members used to accept it. In performing stage,
team was positive about their presentation and were working on any changes required for the
final presentation.
Each team member was patient towards each other and accepted all the ideas that were
given by everyone and this helped my whole group and me to work together smoothly and focus
on the goal. This presentation project gave me an opportunity to show my leadership qualities as
all my team members used to follow my lead and if any disagreement happened in the team then
they used to ask my advice to resolve that issue or disagreement. This project helped me to learn
that I can work in a group as a good team player as well as whenever needed, I can be a good
leader.

What Did Not Go Well
This project also had a negative side as the information available regarding this topic was
difficult, so every team member tried to extract information on the topic which was quite
complex and a slow process. As a result, it consumed loads of time of my team. Sometimes,
information gathered by team members were same which created problems for everyone and was
a waste of time (Ong, Ashford and Bindl, 2015). For presentation, group needed particular matter
for point to point answers and because of the above reason, many team members were getting dis
hearted and felt as if their input was a waste of time as it was not being considered for the final
presentation due to limitation of time and word count. All the important information was only
considered and included. It wasn't feasible for group to include all the information gathered by
the team members to be included because of the limitation so that given topic is addressed
properly and efficiently. There was also a point during where my leadership skills were
questioned as my team members were not able to reach to the conclusion of discussion however
no one else was ready to become a group leader as team was progressing and no one had a
problem with that.
Own Contribution
As a group leader, it was my responsibility to check that whether information collected
by everyone was correct or not so I did an in-depth study of group topic so that I can know that
whether all the information collected by others was correct and appropriate according to the
requirement or not. Being the leader, it was my responsibility to keep my team motivated and try
to bring the best out of everyone so that they can work efficiently and effectively (Cassell and
et.al., 2017). I tried to get opinion out of everyone and provided my own ideas and input required
for the topic. With all the hard work of my team, I tried to complete presentation on time with
the help of everyone. I focused on responsibly assigning specific portion of tasks to each team
member and so, I can monitor everyone that whether they are on the correct track or not so that
presentation will get completed on time with correct and appropriate content required.
Other’s Contribution
Everyone followed all the directions given by me during the whole period. Each team
member tried to extract information on the given topic on time and give their input. Thus, with
effective coordination, they were working in a smooth and fast way. Also, all the group members

participated in all the brainstorming sessions that were conducted during whole time and tried to
come to a conclusion for a specific information so that all the input of our team members can
lead us to get good grades (Whittingham, 2018). Everyone was given with equal chance to
explain their viewpoint and respected others point of view. This kept group members enthusiastic
and helped to maintain a healthy working environment that lead them motivated to achieve the
final goal.
CONCLUSION
This presentation helped me to identify my strengths as well as weaknesses to work
together in a team and helped us all to improve ourselves. It also supported to learn to work
together as a team and achieve results and gain knowledge regarding given topic of the
presentation. Further, it assisted me to understand that I have leadership qualities and when
required, it can lead my team to achieve results. With the same, I can grab many opportunities in
the future that will lead to career to a great success.
