AI Summary
This report serves as an application for a student internship, focusing on the readiness of Malaysian youth for Industry 4.0. It begins with an introduction to Industry 4.0 as a cyber-physical system and its impact on the labor market, particularly the younger generation. The main discussion centers on the challenges and opportunities presented by the industrial revolution, including the increasing importance of automation, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. The report highlights critical issues such as network misconfigurations and operational disruptions within the manufacturing environment, emphasizing the need for strengthening asset and communication visibility. It also stresses the importance of government-led training programs in cybersecurity, automation, robotics, and soft skills to prepare the youth for these challenges. The conclusion reiterates the pivotal role of Industry 4.0 in enhancing productivity despite security concerns. The report includes references to relevant academic sources.

Introduction:
Industry 4.0 is defined as the cyber physical system which holds the ability to connect
the digital world with that of the biological systems like humans with the assistance of
advanced technology (Popkova, Ragulina & Bogoviz, 2019). The aim of this paper is to
apply for the internship in governmental agency.
Main discussion:
The industrial revolution 4.0 in Malaysia is entirely based on the human resources and
labour market, which had entirely changed the way of the people, especially young
generation. They are the smart consumers, who are joining in the modern workforce (Astuti,
Mudjiran & Alizamar, 2020). This revolution comprises of both machinery and automation,
along with smart system and artificial intelligence. Increasing productivity and reducing the
cost in the manufacturing industry are acting as a driving force behind industry revolution
4.0. This is leading to the automation of plant floor. In addition, the inclusion of computation,
networking and physical processes are the key factors of industrial revolution 4.0. This is also
considered as the industry internet of things. It is true that this rapid advancement of
revolution is also posing significant business opportunities. However, it is leading to more
complex, interconnected and heterogeneous manufacturing networks (Jones & Pimdee,
2017). This is resulting in increasing rate of risk in cyber incident in the manufacturing
environment.
The rate of cyber incident in the manufacturing industry is rapidly increasing. The
incidents like misconfigurations, erroneous commands, software errors or device failures are
occurring in the manufacturing environment on regular basis. These factors are highly
affecting the degree of productivity of the organisations. Mis-configurations is one of the key
challenges of industrial revolution 4.0. Network misconfigurations within the manufacturing

sector comprises of the broken links and the commands that cannot access the destination or
the network service. This is resulting in noisy devise, which is causing severe flood in traffic
and hamper the configuration within the within the devises and affect the system
configuration. Such lack of appropriate configuration can happen on regular basis, which can
have a firm impact on the bottom line and hamper the reliability of the network. In order to
prevent this issue, it is important to strengthen the visibility of both the asset and
communication (Bahrin et al. 2016). As the responsibility of meeting the challenges of
industrial revolution 4.0 is entirely bestowed upon the young generation, they should leverage
the visibility of the assets, which can help them to figure out and solve the misconfiguration.
It is important to implement constant monitoring system to catch the early signs of potential
threat. In order to enable the young generation to deal with these issues, it is important for the
government to conduct training on cyber security, automation and robotics. Government
should also conduct training on soft skill for the young generation. Operational disruptions
within the manufacturing environment are another major challenges of industrial revolution
4.0. This can result in process abnormality and instability. This can also have major impact
on the bottom line (Astuti, Mudjiran & Alizamar, 2020). To resolve this issue, it is important
to assess the present state of operation and take action accordingly.
Conclusion:
To conclude, it can be said that despite of the challenges related to security, the
industrial revolution 4.0 or industry internet of things is playing a pivotal role in increasing
the degree of productivity of the firms.
