TASK 2
Ethics refers to the system that based on right and wrong things which is mainly
carried by the individual in respect of attaining any task or also interacting with any persons.
In respect of undertaking the information system in the business, it is mainly adapted through
the use of internet or any type of dealing through the e-commerce (Kapoulitsas & Corcoran,
2017). In context of ethical changes, the major critters are adapted regarding giving
information to the individual about the changes which is occurring in environment or also the
social changes. The real examples which is chosen is from the University of Melbourne
and the ethical issues is faced by the librarian which carries the duty to manage the
student’s information in right manner.
Thus, in perspective of business, it is stated that they must carry the five ethical
analysis in which they presenting the information through using the excessive use of
information system such as:
1. Identify and describe the facts clearly: The ethical issues relating to less accuracy in
information and through the information management system, it helps in disclosing
the accurate information to the students, if the university are using the online platform
to secure the day to day information of the students. If facts are to be disclosed truly
and also appropriate reviews are given regarding using the products as per the stated
steps (Standing & Standing, 2018). Ethics are to be maintained in respect of providing
accurate information to the student regarding disclosing the trust if they using their
services online. This is one of the major solution which is adapted by the business in
respect of facing any conflict in dealing with the customer in better way (Adamson,
Havens & Chatila, 2019). As customer are crucial, if they face any issues after
attaining their services. Thus, it is necessary to share any impotent information which
is relevant to the products, so that they can build the trust and loyalty among them for
longer way.
2. Define the conflict or dilemma and identify the higher – order values involved: In
respect of facing the ethical dilemmas in business relating to providing the quality
products, it is necessary to adapt the two diametrically opposed courses of action. As
in this case the higher values is undertaken if the university is taking care of the
increase the number of students and also reduce expenses in the management
procedure. It is also stated that it is necessary to respect the individual regarding
maintaining their privacy in respect of securing their personal information (Ratheesh
& and et.al., 2017). Through adapting the information system in the university, it is
necessary to maintain ethics in respect of not disclosing any information without the
consent of the students. Thus, in such manner higher value is determined which
results in increasing the reputation and goodwill of the university in respect of
securing the students information for longer way.
3. Identify the stakeholders: Stakeholder refers to person which are directly or indirectly
linked up with the business and also whose right are affected in respect of taking
action which is useful for the growth of the organization. The ethical issues lies in
respect of hiding the reliable information to them (Maylea & Hirsch, 2018). The main
importance which the stakeholder carry is relating to the students, investors and
government intervention which carry wider interest in respect of examining the
Document Page
strategies which is adapted by the university in enhancing their brand image for
longer way (Waycott & and et.al., 2017). The role of information system is adapted in
this aspects is relating to providing the information about the university working
through the platform of internet.
In case of students, the information system are used through the email procedure
which is connected with all the students regarding sharing any important information.
Thus, in case of any conflict raised at university, it can be resolved by writing the email
and also sharing the view about the things undertaking in university (Ferguson, Thornley
& Gibb, 2016). Thus, by this aspects the actual issues is identified and resolved within the
stipulated time period.
4. Identify the options that you can reasonable take care: It is stated that the issues are
identified regarding not taking care of their health and safety, which is the major suty
of the university. It is necessary to sustain the interest of the students towards the
University for Longer Way. The solution to this problem can be resolved in respect of
imposing the accurate planning before implementing it upon the students to take care
of their interest (Lawson & and et.al., 2016). Thus, it is necessary to examine their
needs and preference regarding offering the particular things. As students demands for
securing their details and also provide accurate guidance regarding the new book and
if university is initiating any planning or also raise claims for the data security, if they
are sharing any useful information. Thus, in such manner, ethics are examined
regarding taking care of their information in respect of providing high coded security,
regarding not infringing any information without the supervision of the authority of
the university (Waycott & and et.al., 2016).
Another point which is stated is relating to maintaining balances between the different
culture employees and also fulfilling their needs regarding the requirement raised. This
results in increasing the retention of the students and also increasing the goodwill through
providing more quality results.
5. Identify the potential consequences of your options: In this step, the issues lies
regarding not taking fair decision and thus potential is identified regarding selecting
the right option to retain the interest of students towards the business or not. As most
of the university authority predict that the action taken by them, provide relevant
information and also all the students enjoy the options which is provided to them
(Harris & and et.al., 2019). But the thoughts and interpretation of all the students are
not same and thus resulting in conflict raised. Thus, by adapting ethics in university
through the information system helps in conducting the research in more useful way.
If the report results in reflecting the positive views, than options are to be
implemented and also similar for all the students which are linked with the university.
