Executive summary
The main aim of this report is to develop the personal commitment to both future goals setting as
well as, presenting regular reflection. This reflection report illustrated the different importance of
goal setting as well as, reflection in career development. These are offering guidance to business,
encouraging the workforces for performing and limiting Stress and Maintaining Focus. I have
developed different sills from working in a previous organisation and with self assessment.
These are team work, decision making and customer dealing. It is also found that two tests such
as Gallup report as well as, LPA score is used for developing the career. Three workplace
examples are founded for developing my skills and competencies such as when I positioned as a
real estate manager, shopping centre cleaning manager, and manager at a restaurant. This
experience would be applied by me to make career in real estate business.

This report presents the importance of goal setting as well as, reflection in the career
development. It also emphasizes on SMART goals. This report also explains the 3 workplace
examples from 200 hours of workplace experience that caused me to reflect and a description of

Role/importance of goal setting and reflection in career development
Goal setting is beneficial in different manners. It is described as given below:
Offering guidance to business
Goals could offer future directly to the business that helps to guide a person and workforces
within everyday decision making procedure (Forbes, 2019). For instance, in previous
organisation, my goal was to reduce the office expenses in targeted time period, hence I have
focused on purchasing the products with discount. When my goal was to enlarge the business, I
decided to practice the income created through increasing large client for developing an addition
to an organization.

Goal setting is applied as a motivational technique for workforces (Harvard Business Review,
2019). When an individual is focusing on gaining sales, an individual could apply incentive

this area. I have also obtained 8 out of 10 scores in learning and self-development i.e. higher as
compared to other competencies.
