2INFERIORITY COMPLEX
Research question
What is the impact of inferiority complex on decision making of young adults?
Personal life experience
While I was working as a manager in an organization, I felt that the different employees
who were working under me did not like me and my attitude. I was not able to match up to their
expectations and whenever I used to conduct a meeting or small talk with them, their attitude
was indifferent and they used to talk against me in every possible manner.
In such situation, I started suffering from inferiority complex as I felt that I may be
different from them and it was affecting my performance as a manager as well. During such
instance, my supervisor questioned my performance as there was 0% productivity achieved after
I joined the organization. I was scared as I felt that I will never able to perform like them and it
will be impacting the efficiency of the entire team.
During such span, I thought of resigning my job and try my career in some other
profession. I resigned from the job and tried to apply in some job wherein I can be working for
myself and achieve the best for my organization. However, in the respective instance as well, I
was not able to adjust, therefore, I understood that I was not ready to take the constructive
criticisms and I was always trying to find fault with other people who are involved in the
respective aspect.

3INFERIORITY COMPLEX
Friends life experience
Simon, my friend, who was looking for a career as a model in the fashion industry, there
were different hurdles which she had to face in the respective profession. And although she was
obese she was much confident with her work and it helped her in receiving different interview
calls from reputed fashion companies.
We both have done our schooling together from the same institution, I have observed the
fact that she had the feeling of the inferiority complex wherein she never participated in any of
the school events or functions. From that, I was able to realize that the obese aspect is the key
element which affects the performance of Simon in many areas in personal and professional life.
However, after a year, when I met her, I saw a lot of changes in her attitude and I felt that
she is confident in whatever she is doing in her life. On the contrary, after appearing for many
interviews, she lost her confidence again as she was being judged as per the physical structure
and not her talent. In many scenarios, there was comparison done between both of us and it
developed inferiority complex in her to a large extent.
Nevertheless, she tried to regain her confidence and she was able to perform effectively
and achieve her best. After meeting me, I felt that she was still suffering from inferiority
complex in the same manner and she was becoming overly sensitive to the opinions of others. It
affected her morale and it led to the negative impacts on success of her career.
