Synopsis
Through this article, the author tried to show the impact of participation of employees
in deliberate or strategic change on some set of factors that is related to the execution of
change in the organisation. Through this article, it has been shown that participation helps in
reducing the organisational resistance towards the strategic change implementation and
creates a high level of emotional obligation and commitment of employees towards the
strategic changes.
This article focuses on two interrelated research questions that help in identifying the
knowledge gap related to the participation of employees in strategic change. First, it
examines and considers the relationship based on two kinds of participation then secondly it
focusing on measuring the effect of participation in regards to the approach applied in the
research paper.
The research conducted on national telecommunication firms with intentions to
measure the result of participation in deliberate changes. The finding of research shows a
high degree of strong positive relationship between participation and organisational goal
attainment and obligations towards organisation and vice-versa. This research also suggests
that participation is also influenced by organisational culture and individual goals of change
recipients.
Critique
Participation is an important aspect of success in any organisation, although very few
researchers found to be successful to support this assumption. The major limitation of this
research paper is that every individual has different attitudes and behaviours, thus individual
differences; and the second limitation is that there is a single key informant provides all the
information related to research on the study variables. The author tested the five hypotheses
separately that how these are related to participation and strategic change implementation.
Reflection

eliminate problems, which occur during the strategic change implementation, and how

participation of people makes it easier to implement changes in the organisation. Further, it
also helps me to understand the lecture on how the individual roles, their participation,
emotions, physiological and cognitive approach influence the strategic change
implementation in the organisation.
