Data and information are very important in healthcare as they define roles and
responsibilities as well as educating the society on how to implement better and safer patients
care strategies and they give us guidance on the activities that we perform on daily basis.
Informatics serves other responsibilities of the public health including emergency activities and
responses to environmental health. Government at all levels serves a significant role in protecting
the health of its citizens.
Role of federal in the development standards for informatics in healthcare
The federal government has the responsibility of making policies related to public health
which will help in the development of standards for informatics in the healthcare sector. It also it
