Question 1.
Fundamental mistakes of the LINK project:
When investigation was made after the link project failed to meet the requirements to identify
the mistakes that has been made in the execution of the projects, there were some fundamental
mistakes that were identified. The major problem was though the under budgeting, but when
analysed properly it was identified there were other issues as well and in fact those issues were
responsible for the poor budgeting for the project. However the issue that was most significant
was issues related to the business case for the project. Issues associated with the business cases
were:
poorly formatted business case
lack of communication
lack of clarifications
complex and broad business cases
ineffective review of the business case
When the business case was set for the project it should have been verified through meeting
between the consultants and representatives of Victoria Police. Although a meeting was arranged
before steering committee meeting, it was identified there were some shortcomings in the
business cases. The business case did not consider the key issues and benefits of the projects.
However, these shortcomings were not included in the minutes of meeting of the steering
committee. This was the first mistake that has been made during the planning phase of the
project (Grossman 2017).
Apart from that the business case that was accepted for the project did not contemplate a
like-for-like replacement of LEAP. However when the project was in the procurement process, a
decision was made that LEAP needed replacement. However when inquiry was made , it was
find out that there was no clear description that who made this decision, even this information
was not included in the minutes of the meeting. Hence it was clear that proper effort was not
provided and hence there was communication issues regarding the scope and limitations of the
project which is another major issues for the project not being successful.
Question 2:
Integration issues for this project. Reason for recommendation of ESB over ELT
The integration issues for the project was the following:
Coordination among Different Teams were not proper
Priorities as well as the Timelines for the project was not set accordingly
Resources were not properly considered and hence wastage of resource
Decision Making was not simplified and integrated with the project execution.
Skill set that were necessary for the project was not present among the project team
There was lack of Motivation and Interest
The requirements of the project was complex
Lack of proper budget for the project

Lack of leadership to direct the project efficiently (Singh 2017)
Both ESB and ELT have few things in common that
Both the process works with the database
Both have the capability to connect two heterogeneous systems
But here ESB is recommended as it is suitable for ongoing operations while the ETL is
intended for one-time, ad-hoc or batch-like imports of data (Badham 2015).
Question 3:
Technical Issue that are present in the project of the implementation of the LINK
The issues that are present in the transcription of the LINK process from the LEAP
protocol are as follows: -
Time taken in the prognosis of the data administration of the enactment of the LINK protocol
includes the fact that the projection of the operation did not gained much efficiency. The
main problem that the project suffered was that the spell that was required for the
achievement of the project was very high. The entire project took nearly 5 years to get
completed. This extravagant time that is required in the prediction of the data supervision
affected the operational structure of the project completion in an inefficient way (Sutherland
and Millsteed 2016)
The data that were stored in the data base during the projection of the LEAP compartment
includes the processing of the data commencement. This acted as the most vulnerable reason
for projection of data management. The data that were lost incurs the fact that the projection
of the course management affected the functioning of the Victoria police department. This is
the main reason that the projection of the LINK protocol was not performed with the
projection of the entire department got affected (Gillespie, 2017)
The cost that was incurred in the estimation of the entire data super-visioning can be
performed with the help of the LINK management was very high. This is the reason that the
projection of the data management that is implemented with the benefit of the protocol was
not at all efficient. The protocol that was used by the Victoria Police department links the
projection of the entire management. Despite the high cost that is incurred, the projection lost
the entire data projection.
Question 4:
Recommendation for the better management of the LINK protocol
Recommendations that must be stated in the projection of the LINK protocol for better
management includes the following data terminology system are as follows: -
For improving the project the basic needful that must be implemented includes the better
completion of the project. Another aspect that is needed for the projection of the
management of the project that includes the implementation of the LINK protocol. In
case the time that will be required for the completion of the project is decreased, it can be
estimated that the project that must be performed (Kesic and Thomas 2017)

The cost that is incurred in the projection of the functioning of the Victorian Police must
be reduced in order to increase the efficiency in functioning of the entire project. This
decrease in cost of the implementation of the LINK protocol will help in the better
prognostication of the data organization and this is the foremost motive that the
functioning proficiency will get better (Ross et al., 2017)
A proper backup of the statistics that were deposited in the LEAP protocol will guarantee
the fact that the prediction of the data organization was achieved with the help of the
external data base that will keep a track and record of the statistics that were used in the
analysis of the facts supervision can be prosecuted with the benefit of the stored data.
Even after implementation of the new protocol, the data that are to be required can be
accessed.
