Job Summary
Ibis Styles Hospital is a non-profit, community based medical center providing acute
medical care as well as community services to the communities in Southern California and its
surroundings. As part of its growth strategy, Ibis Styles Hospital is recruiting for an
Informatics Nurse Specialist to be based in its new branch in San Gabriel Valley. The
successful candidate will report directly to the Nursing Administrator and will be required to
apply his/her knowledge of informatics and nursing to facilitate the design, development, and
ongoing modification of a fully automated healthcare system (Black, 2016). He/she will help
to promote the implementation of the healthcare by educating the staff and solve problems
where necessary.
Job Duties and Tasks
- Analysis and interpretation of nursing, patients, or information systems data to
improve nursing services.
- Designing, development, implementation, and evaluation of new and modified
information solutions, decision support mechanism, and data structures to support
patients, healthcare professionals as well as management of their information(Hunt &
Sproat, 2013).
- Identification, collection, recording, and analysis of data that are necessary to the care
patients.

- Designing, conducting, and providing support to information research on nursing.
Education and Work Experience
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor Degree in Nursing and a sound
Knowledge in Information Technology. The successful candidate must have a 2-5 year
experience in clinical practice and must have basic knowledge of the principles of teamwork
and change management (Hunt & Sproat, 2013). The candidate must also express an
understanding of the clinical system and technology.
