Summary:
The purpose of this report is to analyse a Journal which has been focused on one of
the significant application of information system. After the effectively investigating the
mentioned article named “A Survey of Information Centric Networking Research” it has been
determined that the mentioned paper has primarily objectified the functionalities of
Information Centric Networking over the functionalities of Host- Centric Communication. In
order to support the findings the researcher has again concentrated to identify the difference
between the application as well as performance of Host Centric Communication and
Information Centric Networking. Later on a thorough investigation of the paper has helped to
gain knowledge about how the application of ICN has helped the current internet architecture
to gain its desired success. Followed by this above investigation the researcher has also
focused on the areas which needs to be lighten due to its impact on the services of
Information Centric Networking. One of the major objective this study was to conduct and
complete a research on every aspects of the ICN operations which includes the investigation
related to its advantages as well as its limitations. This study has effectively proved that
however, there are several advantages of the approach Information Centric Networking over
Host centric communication, some of the significant limitations are also present in the
application of ICN which restrict the application to meet its desire success. Those limitations
includes the aspects related to the titling structure of the information resources, data security
as well as the data privacy which causes a significant damage to the entire information
architecture. Along with the above aspects one of the important feature of this research paper

is, the research has gripped the limitation area where on other research has been done. Thus,
comparing with the other paper this study has several new findings which has helped to gain
knowledge about ICN operation.
Investigation process and its findings:
A thorough analysis of the this research has provided me a knowledge that the
researcher has comprehensively completed this study by analysing the other research paper
and collected data as well as the researcher has effective investigated the operations of two
mentioned networking and communication methods. The study has mentioned that the Host
Centric Communication stands to transfer the information between to hosts, where packet
information are shared among the authorised host, however from the analysis of the current
internet architecture it has been noticed that the application of ICN has offered the method to
transact information by fetching the information by their naming structure as ICN offers an
information resource centric approach which has the functionalities to store the data globally
and fetch those data for the desired purpose without knowing the address location of the
information. Followed by this investigation the researcher has determined the facilities
offered by the ICN approach, from this investigation it has mentioned the facilities of
effective data transaction, caching the information resources as well as it has helped the
internet architecture to be less complex. Followed by this aspects the searcher has continued
the investigation which has determined the difference between these two approaches. Those
findings includes the process of the naming structure of the information resources along with
that the difference process of structuring the title of the information resources has raised a
significant issue related to the security and privacy of those information. Apart for this
investigation the researcher has focused to discuss the limitations of the ICN operation as
there are very few investigation which has been conducted to analyse this aspect. From the
analysis of the limitations of ICN operation it has stated that there is a significant privacy

issue related to the information resources as the Host centric offers the authorized data
transaction whereas the information centric approach offers the global transaction thus the
similarity in the naming structure causes a significant issue related to the information security.
Followed by a thorough analysis on the mentioned journal it can be concluded that the
researcher has effectively proven that however there are several advantage related to the
effective data transaction and efficiency thee are still some issues present related to its data
security.
Recommendation:
A thorough investigation of this article, it has provided me a detail view of the Host
Centric Communication as well as the approach of Information Centric Networking.
However, this study has effectively explained the features and drawbacks of the ICN
operation, I feel that the researcher should include a thorough understanding of the possible
threat reducing approach of the ICN operation. Thus, it is recommended that this paper must
include the mitigation approached of the Information Centric Networking internet
architecture
