Report
AI Summary
This report provides an overview of the application acquisition process within information and communication systems. It details the five major steps involved: planning and justification, IT architecture, development of acquisition options (building, buying, leasing, partnering, and marketplace), testing/installation/integration, and operations/maintenance/updating. The report emphasizes the importance of understanding each step, particularly the development of acquisition options. It also highlights the advantages and limitations of different acquisition approaches, such as buying software. Furthermore, it discusses the significance of the acquired knowledge for future software acquisition and project management in the field of information and communication.

Describe
From the study, I have understood the concept of approaches of Information and
communication system. I can demonstrate the five major steps of application acquisition. I
have observed the five steps of application acquisition are – planning the project and
providing justification of the problem accordingly. The second step is information and
technology architecture. From the diagram, I have learned that the components of the IT
architecture are information architecture, data architecture, application architecture,
technical architecture, organisational architecture, and feasibility. The third step of the
application acquisition procedure is development of the acquisition options. In this step, I
have observed the options mentioned are – building, buying, leasing, partner, and joining an
exchange marketplace. The fourth step of the procedure is – testing, installation, and
integration. The final step of the acquisition program is operations, maintenance, and
updating the entire procedure. The diagrammatical presentation of all the five steps helped
me to learn clearly about the entire process of application acquisition.
Interpret
Being a part of the domain of information and communication studies, the things I
have learned from the lecture are very significant and useful for me. As mentioned, the study
systematically defined all the five steps of application acquisition procedure that is connected
with the entire study of information and communication system. The knowledge will help me
to understand the advantages and disadvantages of the application procedure. It will be useful
for me to understand the next topics of information and communication course that is
implementing the steps in real-life experiences.

In evaluation of the concept, I can highlight some major points. The components of
the third step that is development of the acquisition option is the most important step. The
entire study is developed covering all the dimensions of this step that includes building,
buying, leasing, partnering, and joining an exchange partner from the marketplace. However,
I feel that, the other step of the diagram was also required to be demonstrated in detail as the
third step. It would be better if the study could provide details about the others steps also.
However, the I have developed a clear conception about the application acquisition procedure
of information and communication system.
Plan
As a part of this course, the information about application procedure will help me in
understanding the software acquisition procedure in near future. It will help me to gain
complete knowledge of the information and communication procedure. This knowledge will
help me acquire the systems and importance of the complex nature and the connection
between information and communication. The study is a part of acquisition of project, hence,
it will help me to become a successful project manager in the professional field also.
