AI Summary
This report provides a comparative analysis of information and intelligence, focusing on their distinct roles within the context of national security and counter-terrorism. It defines information as raw, unfiltered data collected by various sources, including professional investigators and spy agencies, used to identify potential threats and cyber crimes. In contrast, intelligence is presented as processed, refined, and interpreted information, analyzed by trained experts to derive actionable insights and prevent security threats. The report highlights the functions of the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS) and the importance of distilling raw data into reliable intelligence for effective counter-terrorism strategies. It also outlines the key differences between the two terms by comparing the information gathering process with the intelligence analysis and the role of different agencies involved in it.

INTRODUCTION
Intelligence is counter terrorism which aims at dealing with military firms and police
which have specialised in field of military to conduct direct combat and arrest with terrorist.
However, information plays a very important role in managing problem and threats because it is
itself an information infrastructure which holds power and can be communicated. It is the source
which provides solution to every situation which arise in intelligence. The report will evaluate

Terrorism is a threat of war and violence which is related to crime activities (Ronczkowski,

MAIN BODY
Information
Information is a tool which helps the terrorism organisation in analysing reason behind
problems. There are various informational technological tools which are being used by sector to
control and manage problems (Hartley, 2014). It s the awareness system which plays a vital role
in developing strong relationship between different states and territories and Australian
Government. Information is the source which helps in connecting and building Cooperative
relationship in response to terrorism between all parts of Australia. The information is unfiltered
and raw data which is not even evaluated appropriately when delivered to sources. National

information and is only shared with the people who are responsible and work for Australian
National security. Improving technological capabilities of national security is becoming
important because it is the only source which helps government, development and intelligence
agents to connect and communicate for determining root cause of terrorism activities (National
security agencies, 2017). Increasing terrorism has advanced the need of awareness and changing
information communication because effective planning before terrorism attack is the strategy
which assist the government in controlling loss. Further, to make information system more via
Australian government has disabled access to many websites which creates the chance of cyber
threat and increasing terrorism plans. Moreover, the information sharing is common process but
now system security has been advanced ad every confidential information crosses various secure
passage to reach National government, intelligence workers and National security team.
Intelligence
Intelligence is processed and refined form of information with counter intelligence which
are the organisation dealing with National security (Hartley, 2014). It is termed as intelligence
because it is interpreted with trained expert analyst who works for security and terrorism. It is
important for the sources to evaluate and distilled information for seeking accurate information
and data which can be used to prevent terrorism. In Australia experts has invested lot of time and
time fr seeking intelligence and source to interpret raw data to prevent crime and war violence.
Intelligence is directly related to functions of Australian Secret intelligence service (ASIS). The
goal is to acquire intelligence with regards to attacks, Capabilities, intentions and activities
which are concerned with organisations which are not part of Australia. Further, the Intelligence
Services Act 2001 relates the functions of ASIS, in which the focus firm is to collect intelligence
form foreign which is related to Australian interest (Intelligence Services Act 2001, 2017).
Further, it focuses in counter intelligence which helps the firm in protect Australian interest and
initiatives which can be affected due to cyber threats, crime and war violence. Apart from this to
protect interest of Australian ASIS focuses on engaging security services and intelligence with
own interest (Goldfarb, 2016). However, in Australia, the intelligence is based on collection of
data which is relates to economic issue, notational defence and international relation.
Interpretation raw information by expert is the only source which helps the counter intelligence
firm in developing accurate solution to problems (Taylor and Russell, 2012). Besides, is
distilling process is the only activity of intelligence which helps to predict problems and crimes

violence (Roach, 2010).
Information v\s Intelligence
Information is the data available with national security which is collected by spy and
professional investigators. These are the people who work for Austrian security intelligence
organisation but there work completely different form intelligence because in this the profession
are focused on collecting information which is interest of Australian society and is related to
Cyber crimes and War violence (Overview, 2018). However, intelligence is distilled and
interpreted information which is done by expertise of ASIS. In this the professional are focused
on analysing the information which can be useful for protecting interest of Australian society.
Intelligence is the data which is reliable and accurate because it is interpreted by professional of
ASIS who are responsible for attaining safety and harmony for society. Unlike, spy who are
focused on collecting every possible information which is concerned with interns of people and
is necessary for security reasons.
In accordance, it can be stated that there is significant difference in both the terms like the
ultimate principle of information is collecting of data with regards to terrorism activities and
determining specific problems from it is intelligence (Brown, Gommers and Serrano, 2015).
Information is for National security reason and therefore is collected form every possible source
which is found to me mysterious and critical with regards to interest society and public safety
wile intelligence is accumulation of data and sources from valid and related places as it is
focused on accuracy. Intelligence is final data which is being analysed and needs to further
processing and is viable for relying. Apparently, information is the knowledge which supports
the research topic and security reasons and is based on enabling wisdom (Rudner, 2013). Like
the data collected by professional spy from which the content which is providing alert with
regard to research aim of ASIS is information will be the information which is considered valid
as an alert is further process to determine outcomes which is known as intelligence and serves
the purpose of Australian Secret intelligence service. Apart from this there are various
association which are linked with information and intelligence service like Australian Border
Force (ABF), Australian Federal Police (AFP), The Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis
Centre (AUSTRAC) and Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC). Theses are

However, the role of intelligence services experts is to collecting raw information and produce
intelligence which is used for preventing and making government aware about the changing
situations and for national security(National security agencies, 2017). Hence, developing
understanding over difference between intelligence and information is important because the
meaning of both the concept is very important and no information can replace each other as
information is basic raw material and data whereas intelligence is distilled and expertise
interpreted information which is ready for use for intelligence services.
CONCLUSION
The report summarized about the different of information and intelligence where both
have its significant role in National security. The terms and their purpose is to serve better living
and to prevent terrorism. It identified meaning of both the terms which states that information is
raw data which is collected by professional spy and investigators from different sources which
are concerned with Interest of society, war and criminal violence (Hartley, 2014). Also, it
outlined detail of both the term which will helps in making differentiation between both the
terms by relating to concept of each other. Like, from the discussion it has been evaluated that
intelligence is considered as final data which is ready for the use for purpose of security and
terrorism as it is interpreted by expertise. However, information is the data which is collected by
professional spy of ASIS. Thus, report found out difference between information and intelligence
