Introduction:
The good city council parking system is one of the most advanced parking system that
have been developed in Australia. The operation of the system is one of the major thing that
help in the process of eradicating the problems of proper car parking systems (Bonde et al.
2014). This paper explains about the major issues and privacy challenges and accessibility
challenges that might be faced. The role of the database administrator includes capacity
planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring,
security, troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery.
Assumptions
 There are two databases one for the seasonal customers and one for the
ordinary customers.
 Database operators are always present in the parking lot.
Body
The working of the car parking system of the Good city is one of the easiest and
effective system that have been introduced. The parking system divides the customers into
two categories namely the ordinary customers and seasonal customers. The ordinary
customers are the one who visits the parking lot once or in an uneven interval of time
(Khanna and Anand 2016). While the seasonal customers are the one who park their cars in a
regular manner. The seasonal customer gets a fixed parking spot for a duration of time. While
the viability for the ordinary customers’ servers for first day first serve basis. This ensures
that seasonal customer always gets a parking lot and the parking lot is never over
crowded.Entering the parking lot, the entry of the parking lot has sensors which helps in the
process of identifying that a car has entered the parking lot. The ordinary customers’ needs to

press a button in order to generate a ticket. When the customer pulls out the ticket the entry is
opened up and the customer is able to enter the parking lot. Thus in case of the sessional
customer the database administrator needs to ensure that all the nessacery information like
the date of the issue of the ticket, the date of expiry, the parking number and car number all
the information are to be saved in a proper manner.
The seasonal customers’ needs to enter the seasonal ticker (Pham et al. 2015). The
ticket is checked for validation and upon validation the customer is able to enter the parking
lot. If the parking lot is full the ordinary customers are notified in the entry section about the
parking lot to be filled up.
Thus as a database administrator the it major thing that is to be taken into
consideration is to ensure that there are two kinds of the databases that are to be maintained.
The first database must contain the information’s about the seasonal customers. The names,
the card number, bill details and others. When the customers inserts the parking card then al
the information are to be re-verified and entry is too granted.
While in the case of the ordinary customers, a temporary database needs to be
maintained. When the customers enters the parking lot, the car number and the entry time is
to recorded. When the customers exits thee parking lot, parking fees is to be collected
acrodingling. Hence, database plays a major role in the project.
The role of the data base administrator is to ensure that all the work in the parking lot
are done in smooth manner. IN this case, the database administrator has to ensure that
whenever a car enters the parking lot and the sensors senses the car, a ticket is generated for
the same. The information of the ticket is to be updated in the database(Ji et al. 2014). In case

of the seasonal customers, when the customers enter the card, the information is read and is
updated in the data base. When the car is going out, in case of the ordinary customers when
the ticket is entered in the port the information is to read and matched with the information
from the database. Once the information is cheeked the price of the parking is generated.
Once again when the bill is paid, the same information is to be updated in database. The work
of the database administrator is to ensure that all the information’s are updated in a correct
manner. Further in case of the regular customers it is the work of the database administrator
to check for the information about the expiry date and other details.

Privacy Issues:
Some of the major privacy issues that can be faced by the parking lot are:
1. The database of the sessional customers must not be mixed with thee database of
the ordinary customers.
2. If the data of the seasonal customers is lost, then it can hamper the entry of the
regular customers.

3. Error in database can miss-calculate the parking fees.
4. Ticket printing of the sessional customers must be done in proper manner because
of the fact these tickets are to be regularly cheeked.
Accuracy:
The accuracy depends on the process of ensuring the number of the customers that are
visiting the parking lot. One of the other major thing that is to be ensured is the fact that all
the data must be stored in proper manner such that none of the information are lot. Use of the
cloud servers can help in the process to ensure that smooth flow of the data is ensured.
Accessibility:
The database administrator needs all the permissions to access the information that are
related to the customers. In order to enhance the security of the database proper maintenance
must be done in a regular manner.

Thus concluding the topic it can be said that the concept of parking system is one of
the most advanced system that have been developed in the past years. Thus the work of the
database administrator is one of the major thing that is to eb ensured in the parking lot.
Without the use of the proper data base the the working opf the car parking system can come
to stake.
