Problem Statement
The Inshore Insurance Ltd case study has been thoroughly reviewed and security threat
has been identified as the main problem. The IIL uses the cloud services to conduct all the
business activities. The cloud applications are enabled by the web and provide the services to the
policyholders (Kerzner and Kerzner 2017). IIL is seeking for the IT solution that will assist them
to define a platform which helps to support primary data and the generated data and all these data
are sourced from the cloud and in-house. IIL proposes IT to build a cycle which will provide a
solution to prepare for Q4 2016 budget cycle. ISO 27000 series policy can be taken up and it
provides the individual stands on IT security band documentation as well (Coronel and Morris
2016). This is the Final Statement of Work that has been developed on the basis of Preliminary
Statement of Work. The Final Statement of Work will contain the project plan and the associated
stakeholder list.
Requirements Specification
IIL must take up the SFIA 6 framework. The framework defines the skills needed by the
professionals to take up the roles associated with information and communications technology.
The project managers and his team must take up appropriate strategy and architecture to create
schedules, making project budget, setting goals to complete the project (Cascio 2018). IIL must
take up the SFIA 6 strategy framework, and the framework can be categorised into the four
categories-
Information Strategy- Information Strategy includes the approach of the organisation to
utilise the information, services and the desired technology (Li and Landry 2018). The

4INFORMATION SYSTEM PROJECT MANAGEMENT
management body of IIL must focus on repetition, creation and maintenance of strategy and
must check whether IT plans are aligned with the business objectives or not.
Advice, as well as guidance- The clients’ needs, must be prioritised, and the experts
must provide the advice and the recommendation to the clients (Laudon and Laudon 2016). The
project outcome is dependent on the specific area technique, methodologies and the technology.
Business strategy and planning- The management body by gathering knowledge,
evaluation, the experiment can be able to meet the business goals (Coronel and Morris 2016).
The IT management team must apply a fruitful plan, must deliver and support the IT services and
the products.
Technical strategy and planning- The emerging hardware, software, as well as the
communication technology, is vital for better project management. The staffs and the employees
must be made aware of the information technology services (Yang et al. 2016). The information
resources of the organisation must be managed, and with the aid of the information system the
information resources can be better managed and handled. The organisation must ensure that the
correct methodologies and plan have been used wisely.
Test Criteria Summary
SFIA 6 framework must meet the criteria of IIL. The seven-level of responsibilities are –
follow, apply, enable, ensure and advise, initiate and influence, setting strategy, inspire and
mobilise and assist.
Follow- The IIL staffs need to complete the tasks under the close supervision of the IIL
management staff. The staff must follow the management staff.

Assist- In the second level of responsibility the management staff utilises some
discretion, use the wide circle of interaction (Desai and Kashiyani 2015). They work on a range
of tasks and proactively. They work on the range of tasks.
Apply- The management staff must complete the work packages. The management staff
works for the suppliers as well as the customers. The management staff works with the suppliers
and the customers (Hopkin 2017). In this step, the management staff performs several tasks.
They must take the initiative and must schedule own and others’ work.
Enable-They work under general direction in the framework. The management staffs
work on a broad range of activities.
Ensure and advise- This step consists of the objective setting responsibility and the
supervisory and broad direction The step also involves challenging and the unpredictable work
(Akua Agyepong et al. 2016). The management staff must show proficiency in the business and
must carry out the business operations.
Initiative and Influence- This step involves authority for the area of work. The
administrators will set IIL objective values. It is highly complicated and strategic work (Matyas
and Pelling 2015). They initiate and lead both technical and the business change.
Setting up of Strategy, inspire and mobilise- The authority involves the setting up of
policy. The administrators take all the critical decision to the organisation (Marston, Cowling
and Bielefeld 2016). The administrator of IIL must make all the important decisions. They must
take up the leadership skills.

6INFORMATION SYSTEM PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Technologies Overview for infrastructure, telecommunications, applications and data
IIL must adopt appropriate IT solutions. The development and the implementation stage
involve different kinds of activities by which the best IT solution can be implemented within IIL.
SFIA Scheme of responsibility includes the System development installation and integration and
user experience.
System development
The Inshore Insurance Limited (IIL) project must be reviewed. Millions of employees
work under IIL organisation. The IT management body must set specific goals and the policies.
The solution will bring value to the organisation (Gabriels et al. 2016). The stakeholders
associated with the project must adhere to the needs of the IT solution. The solution must keep
seeking for the improved solutions.
The management body must keep the personal data and the claim report over the five
years, and they must analyse the risks based on the data. The underwriter looks at the claim and
the in the five years to evaluate the Loss Net Ratio. Data Analyst must analyse the data after the
data gets set up and the formula gets set up. The IT management body must update the data and
the formula, and it is their responsibility in level 2. The database architect must configure the
database, store and generate the data. The IT management body must twin the hardware as well
as the software data, and it is a difficult job for the system administrator.
User Experience
The feedback from the customers and the clients are very important and must be taken
into consideration. The underwriter is the main user in this case study. The user is responsible for
measuring the performance and the behaviour of the system (Brugiavini and Pace 2016). The

primary goal of the section is to achieve the requirements of the underwriter. The underwriter
will provide the feedback and their feedback will be analysed.
Installation and Integration
After conducting the testing and the resolution, installation of solution system into IIL
organisation will create lots of opportunities. The IT management body will have to assure the
software must be installed without any hassle. There are several issues associated with the
software installation (Blumenthal and Hsiao 2015). The software can be prone to virus attack.
The system can get collapse. IIL can lose the important data due to the security breach and the
data breach. IIL database has 100 TB personal data and IIL must ensure safety and the security
of the system. The data leakage can prove to be a disaster for the company. IIL must prevent the
data leakage.

Tools and Methodology
Project management strategy is the methodology of making plans and initiating plans by
selecting the dedicated team, the creation of schedule, managing the budget and setting goals to
complete the project. The project management architecture represents the several designing tasks
and assisting with better architecture concepts for the project (Duckett and Willcox 2015). The

management body decides to follow the SFIA 6 framework and categorise the sections in 4
categories-
Information Strategy
The category involves the approach of the organisation to use the information and
services and the desired technology (Blumenthal and Hsiao 2015). The management body must
focus on the creation and the maintenance of the strategy so that the IT plans can align with
business goals.
Business Strategy
The management body must have the desired knowledge to gather data, innovation, and
evaluation. The IT management requires planning and delivering the IT services and the products
appropriately.
Adapting SFIA 6 framework
The SFIA 6 6 is the model for the describing and managing the competencies of the ICT
professionals. The framework aids the skilled labourers to meet the needs of the workforce. The
framework consists of six areas (Blumenthal and Hsiao 2015). The IT management body of IIL
must consider all the six areas. The six areas include the strategy and architecture, skills and
quality, development and implementation, delivery and operation.
SFAIA is controlled and governed by SFIA Foundation. SFIA Foundation is a not-for-
profit organisation and is run by five corporate members. SFIA is based on the following seven
responsibilities (Li and Landry 2018). Follow, Apply, Ensure and advise, Enable, Assist, Set
strategy, inspire and mobilise and assist.
