a) Information about the supermarket and locate relevant information about its strategy,
how it competes in the market place, and its operations
In a super market the number of products is huge and a lot of people come to the super
market to buy several products. In a super market there are various kinds of people and
authorities who work in different way. The customers mainly come to buy several products and
the stores create several offers and features to attract the customers. In a supermarket there are
different kinds of business chain and methods. The stores follow a lot of strategies and
techniques to attract the customers. They provide different discounts according to the demands
and several occasions throughout the year. The area on which a supermarket is formed is also of
big quantity. The super market also utilizes other entertaining features which are also very
important in terms of the attracting the customers to the supermarket. In market there are various
aspects related to the competition. The main competition is in terms of the costs and sells and the
amount of net income. The stores are the main centers which collect lots of information from the
different customers and also analyze those data for the better customer satisfaction. Different
techniques are taken like implementing technology and taking customer feedback are also
important for better customer satisfaction. In the functionality advancement the stores also
implement many interesting techniques which are also very important in terms of making the
system more comfortable to the customers. There are many techniques like queue management
which are also very important in terms of making the system more advanced and fluent. In case
of different stores there are many middlemen who are associated with the transactions of the

products. In case of the supermarket the number of middlemen are decreases as the
implementation of the online transaction is done.
b) Describe the organisational form of the supermarket using Mintzberg’s classification
According to the Mintzberg’s classification there are five types of the organizations
which can be studied in order to understand the organizational structure and functionality in
terms of the business management. Those classifications are entrepreneurial, machine,
professional, divisional and innovative. In this case the super market is of the form of the
divisional and entrepreneurial business. The main advantages regarding the organizational
structure are that the number of customer is huge in this particular case and the product
transaction is also of very high scale.
c) Present the value chain of the supermarket using Porter’s Value Chain Model. List and
describe the primary and support activities.
The value chain basically refers to the set of activities which are mainly operated in a
business firm or in a particular industry. There are many levels like outbound logistics, inbound
logistics and the sales related transitions and outbound logistics which are also very important in
case of making the value chain. The super markets also have its own style of value chain in the
marketing. The value chain is created on the basis of the margin which is created on basis of the
subtraction of value created and captured and the cost of creating the value. The more value an
organization creates the more is the amount of the organizational profit. For creating more value
to the competitive advantage it is also very important to create the customer value which is the
most important factor in case of making the system more customer friendly.

d) Analyse the competitive strategy of the supermarket using Porter’s competitive forces
model
It is very important tool to understand about the several features and factors which are
responsible for the competition in a super market environment. The main thing is the industry
rivalry which is dependent upon four main factors. These factors are threat of new entrants,
threat of substitutes, bargaining power of buyers and the bargaining power of suppliers. The
amount or the impact of the industry rivalry is a cyclic process which is also dependent upon the
organizational structure and peripheral environment. In this case the threat of substitutes is high
and the threat of new entries should be low. The main advantage of referring the factors with a
level can lead to the proper understanding of the business model and the factors on which the
competition is dependent.

a) Identification of an existing human activity system supporting the overall supermarket
There are many identifications factors to understand the present human activity system of
the business. The main advantages of identifying the human activity system are that the
supermarket functionality can be understood with in a proper way. The main advantages of
making the system more advanced are to create proper examination of the human activity

The future of the business depends upon various factors which can be identified by the
analysis of the success factors. The main advantage of understanding the success factors is that

a) Identification of a new information system.
A new information system can be discussed with respect tp gthe organsiational point of
view. According to the different models of the Morter’s theorem which conveys that there are
several primary and secondary layers. The main factor is to identify those layers and to utilize
those in order to increase the business impact.
b) Description of the information of the new system
The new data system is dependent upon the information related to the sells of the
products and also with the systemic analysis of the business data. It also refers to several
strategies which should be taken by the organizations to get a proper customer friendly
atmosphere and proper gain in the market.
