1INFORMATION SYSTEMS APPLICATION IN AIR NEW ZEALAND
Introduction
The airline industry is experiencing major trends that are having a significant effect
on the way in which the airlines are conducting business. With the advancements of the
technology customers want new and updated systems to enhance their experience with the
airline companies. The competition in this domain has made the airline companies search for
different new methods to attract their customers and meet their demands. In order to be an
active part in the race every company wants to adopt some new applications. In this paper a
mobile application will be suggested to the Air New Zealand Company that could help the
passengers in bag tracking, navigate the airport premises and is also children friendly
(Chapman 2015). The application should be useful for the airline company with respect to
increase in the revenue and beneficial to the customers as well.
Recent Trends in the airline industry

of social networks has incorporated the uses of the social media applications in its business
and is gaining the trust of its customers, at the same time is also generating sales. The
company offers built-in applications that in turn are a pathway leading to the loyalty of the
customers and enables the customer to experiment on their online platforms. The built-in
applications provided by the company consist of trip planers to different destinations that are
offered by the Airlines Company and can also be shared among friends on social networking
sites such as Facebook (Benckendorff, Xiang and Sheldon 2019). The advantage of the
application is to help the customers to plan trips by inviting their friends and discuss on when
to go for it.
2) Malaysia Airlines- This airline has implemented a smart system connecting them with
Facebook and the application is named MHBuddy. The application helps the customers to

make reservations, control their check-in and select seats. The application is user friendly as

the same flight (Holloway 2017). It is an approach undertaken by the Malaysian Airlines to
aid connectivity in between friends and make their travelling comfortable.

technology prove that this modernization helps in the growth of the firm irrespective of the
domain it belongs to. Some of the advantages are as follows:

help customers with the luggage tracking and many more cases.
The company Air New Zealand aims at supercharging New Zealand’s success in the social,
environmental and economical spheres. They focus on issues related to how the Air New
Zealand can deliver on purpose and create value for the stakeholders of the company as well

the various advantages of cloud computing (Karádi, Csiszár and Nagy 2015). The advantages
of the cloud computing will help the business grow in its sphere owing to the many
advantages it is laced with such as:
1) Cloud computing of the mobile application will be cost effective and it is user friendly as
the customers are charged for those services that they avail.
2) The cloud enhances the modernization in the software, technologies related to the
processes and networking along with storage that is essential in case of tracking luggage,
storing the maps of the areas of the airport that will help the customers to navigate.
Thus the company should adopt the mobile application in order to match the other
