2MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEM
Introduction
In the last few years, human life has become increasingly immersed in upcoming
and existing technologies. Most of communication among the people is done through
online platform or mode (Acemoglu & Restrepo, 2018). Entertainment like video games is
provided to the user through internet mode only. Currently, the point can be understanding
that smartphones have become an important part of connectivity. With the changing
lifestyle, question is put on the fact that how technology is helping us to achieve and do
more (Tarafdar et al., 2015). Use of internet is going to be big issues when it comes to
interface with day to day working as it is difficult to control. No kind of threshold can be
understood by excessive use of internet. As per the user, there can be maximum two hours
of total screen depend entertainment for children on everyday basics (Matos et al., 2016). In
many cases, internet can provide mental support through online treatment for a wide range
of mental disorder.
The report provides a discussion on the fact that how technology can threaten health
and wellbeing of individual. The last part of this report is all about reflection on some of the
vital points of the report.
Literature Review
As stated by (Benes et al., 2015), Internet is known to be valuable source of learning
and all the given learning requires certain number of changes in the brain. There is various
kind of training with respect to technology which can improve the overall working of the
memory. It can provide proper kind of mental simulation that will slow down the cognitive
decline. At present, there are different kind of games which can improve the visual
processing and response skill for motor. It can be concluded that technology can be used for
improving the plasticity of brain in different regions. Various researcher around the globe
has analyzed that small group of people spend huge amount of time on digital technology.
It will ultimately result in huge number of issues. The given behaviors are addictive use,
pathological use and lastly compulsive use. Addiction terminology is all about belonging in
a given clinical setting where the children can make use of digital technology. There is
large number of disagreement among the different researchers where digital technology
should be considered to be effective or not.
As stated by (McGuire et al., 2017), internet and mobile phones make use of self-
reported feeling of depression. The use of digital technology among children has increased
to a large extent in the last few years. Certain number of question was raised on time which
begins spend on digital medicated activities. It can affect the children in two ways that are
positive and negative. Technology can have huge amount of impact on both mental and
physical health of the users. Overconnected on the internet platform generally results in
various issues like distraction, depression, and gratification. After the effect on mental
health, technology can have negative effect of health problems like loss of hearing, strain of
neck and vision problem.
According to (Autor, Dorn & Hanson, 2015), Technology can also affect our health
that is specifically the way of thinking. The overall increase in the use of technology like
mobile and video games among teenagers has affected the working of our brain. Increase

use of technology has ultimately resulted in decrease in attention span due to continuing
working on different perspective. It will ultimately result in decrease in overall memory
abilities. Complete dependency on search engine for gathering information and constant
flow of data in 140 characters has ultimately resulted in forgetfulness. It will ultimately
result in overall reduction of attention span.
As stated by (Acemoglu & Restrepo, 2017), Technology tends to affect the health of
individual that results in obesity among the people. Increase in time spend on mobile
phones, television and video games have ultimately resulted due to lack of physical
activities and exercise. Overall increase in watching television has resulted in increase in
snacking of unhealthy foods. It ultimately leads to overall obesity. Technology damages the
health by emitting chemical and waves which make individual more vulnerable to cancer.
As a result of overuse of technology it can easily lead to disturbance of sleeping schedule
that results in bad sleeping habits. It can ultimately result in neck and headaches as a result
of increased curving and staring of the gadgets. Increase use of technology results in overall
damage to the environment. There is large number of industries that manufacture products
that have resulted in waste products to air, earth, and water. When the damaged
technological products are disposed as runoff then it will contaminate the water bodies like
lakes and rivers. The manufacturing of technological products ultimately results in emission
of carbon dioxide and another kind of chemical which will boost the overall chemical
change. Deposition of waste in the landfills ultimately result in contamination of and killing
of vegetables.
According to (Fu et al., 2018), high dependency on technology has ultimately
resulted in isolation. Physical interaction with other people is considered to be important for
human health as it helps in establishing and creating new bonding. On the contrary, the use
of technology helps in creating online network that has resulted in easy and quick
communication. But with the increase in the use of technology has resulted in reduction of
face-to-face communication and personal contact with others among friend and families.
Isolation will ultimately result in strain in relationship, depression along with lack of
system. It has ultimately resulted in overcoming various kind of issues.
As stated by (Nourbakhsh et al., 2017), Technology also affects the breed of privacy
and issues related to security. Regular use of technology and posting of personal
information on online platform has ultimately resulted in having an idea with respect to
everyone’s life. Various criminals around the globe can have easy access to vital
information with the help of phishing and virus attack. Hackers ultimately result in overall
stripping of the security of the people. Android kernel is completely derived from the Linux
kernel where the choice of secure kernel needs to be neglected. Wrong permission which is
set by zygote socket allow any application in the device to send fork without verification. It
ultimately results in DOS in fork request that is needed for legitimate process.
As per (Price et al., 2018), there is strong kind of connection between technologies
and education. In the last twenty years, technology has improved a lot. Development in the
field of technology has ultimately resulted in negative effect on the students who are
classroom. There are incidents of cyber-bullying and reduced face to face communication
as a result of difference in wonderful technology. The point can be concluded that increase
in the use of the technology ultimately results in providing better connectivity and various
positive activities that will make a better world. An individual is completely responsible for
use of technology has ultimately resulted in decrease in attention span due to continuing
working on different perspective. It will ultimately result in decrease in overall memory
abilities. Complete dependency on search engine for gathering information and constant

understanding the benefits along with avoiding the negative consequence of the technology.
The overall impact of the above mitigation technique is considered to be huge and statistic
prove the thing very well.
Reflection Part
I have learned about the fact that how bicultural is referred to Māori and non-Māori.
There is large number of interpretation about the fact that how biculturalism needs to be.
The biggest plus point of biculturalism is all about acknowledgement of Māori. It needs to
have good relationship with the land. After the year 1970, the government of New Zealand
is focusing to establish a society which is bicultural. It comes up with some key ideas of
biculturalism in the whole New Zealand like
The place of origin of treaty of Waitangi that is in our laws.
Te Reo Māori is known to be original place of Maori Language which is
known to be official language of Australia.
Land ownership- Taking account of historical events along with present
residency and population.
There is need to equal opportunities for the success of Maori in economic,
educational and justice system.
Conclusion
The point can be concluded that the report has two parts that is literature review and
overall reflection. In the report, a discussion has been carried out with respect to individual
threating health and wellbeing. Usage of technology is the world is becoming high due to
rapid development which results in use in various section of life. It has made our life very
much incredible in nature. The point can be noted that various system and application tend
to rely on these technologies. Some of the most popular technologies are mobile phones
and internet. Apart from the damages, it also tends to provide huge number of advantages.
Technology tends to create huge amount of impact on mental, education and physical
health. The biggest damage due to increase in use of technology is reduction of overall
quantity and quality of sleep. Melatonin which is a chemical of sleep is completely
influenced by continuous glow of screen. Chronic Smartphone Stress is another kind of
mental problem which is caused due to system.
