Part A-Justification
1. Example of Listening and Verbal Communication
I have understood that having proper verbal and communication skill is necessary as it is
an important part of professional life. I have used my listening and verbal communication skills
while attending the important lectures of the unit. The listening skills have helped me in
understanding the course learning in an effective manner and I have used by communication
skills to effectively communicate with the lecturers.
2. Effective Use of reading skills
The reading skills are necessary in order to properly develop an academic document. I
have used my reading skills in preparation of this document as in portfolio one, I had to read
different journal papers to produce the report.
3. Team Work and Interpersonal Skills
This course consisted of projects that were to be completed with a team. I have been an
important part of the team and tried to motive my fellow team members in performing their work
on time. The team had faced certain issues such as clashes in decision among the team members.
I showed my professional and interpersonal skills to settle the dispute among the team members
so the work is completed within the time.

While working in portfolio 2 of this assessment I had undergone a thorough research and
understanding of the code of ethics and code of professional conduct. This task has helped me in
understanding the ethical behaviours and different social, privacy and legal aspects of the ICT
domain. This was necessary as I had to take a decision by evaluating an unethical situation. The
use of ghost writers by the students was unethical and to evaluate it, it had to do a detailed
research about the ACS code of ethics and ACS code of professional conduct.
5. Diversity and Intercultural Competency Skills
Our project team members had people from different cultural background. It was very
necessary to maintain a good team environment to complete the project work effectively. My
intercultural competency skills helped me in maintaining a friendly relationship with the team
members.
6. Communication and Collaboration Technology
Development of proper communication plan in order to communicate effectively with the
team members by making use of the ICT devices is an example of communication and
collaboration technology that I have learnt in this course unit. This can be effectively used in any
organization in management of different live projects where proper communication flow is
necessary.
7. Evaluation of ICT Technologies
I have learnt to evaluate the ICT technologies on basis of its needs on a particular project.
The use of ICT can improve the organizational communication process. The use of different
information and communication devices can help in proper communication flow among the team

members. While working in a team environment, we have made use of different communication
vehicles such as email and the phone class to communicate the project progress among the team
members.
Part B-Feedback
The learning outcome of understanding the basic principle and importance of effective
interpersonal communication is going to help me the most when I will graduate as a professional.
This is because an effective communication is needed in order to ensure that all the team
members are updated about the project progress. Listening is another essential tool that will be a
great help in my professional career. Listening is essential in order to understand the perspective
of a person. Communication is important to convey what a person is thinking. Both
communication and listening is therefore important as an ICT professional. Along with a good
observation skill, it is essential for an ICT professional to have a good listening power and ability
as this will help in career growth. Ability of fluent communication is another essential need in
today’s world and this unit has considerably helped me in brushing up my communication skills
as well. Therefore, I find the learning outcome of listening and verbal communication will help
me the most as an ICT professional in my professional career. However a more practical
approach to the unit could have made it better.
