Why do big companies still fail in their use of Information Technology?
Lack of IT experts is one of the major reasons behind the fall out of the use of IT
across bigger commercial establishment1. At the same time, it can be said that the huge
investment are required to get the latest patches of the IT systems and it is source of concern
for the operational team of the business. Lack of interest and user involvement is the other
reason behind failing the use of IT in global corporate. At the same time, lack of support
coming from the executives of the organization is the other reason behind the rejection of the
use of IT services in the bigger companies.
What should they be doing differently?
Stakeholders of bigger companies must be aware about the capabilities of IT systems
which can optimise the each and every business operation. Detailed description of the IT
systems has to be provide to the stakeholders in the technological training sessions.
Task 2
Suppose you are a manager being asked to develop computer based applications to give
a competitive edge in an important market for your company. What reservations might
you have about doing so? Why?
Selection of an appropriate e-business policy in the computer based applications will
be beneficial to have a competitive edge for my company.

There are diverse categories of challenges which are faced by the stakeholders of any
online commercial establishments such as the security problems of the products offered to the
consumers, copyright protection issue, transaction issues and the data privacy issues2. Thus,
as a manager, I would love to understand the expectations of the consumers of the business
and select an appropriate business policy. From the perspective of a manager, it can be said
that e-business policy can be very much useful to enhance the business area of the business, it
can also enhance the computing facilities of the business.
Task 3
How should a business store, access and distribute data and information about its
internal and external environment?
Information about the internal operations of a business can be successfully maintained
with the help of a transaction database and a production database 3. In order to work with
each of these databases, the business store must be having their private network as well.
Consistency of the data of the internal operations can be managed in a systemized modus
using the transaction database. At the same time, quality of the internal operations of the
business store can also be enhanced with the help of the production database.
Operational database can be very much useful for business store to distribute and access all
the data related to the external environment of the business such as the raw data of the supply
chains. The transparency of the stakeholder transactions can be maintained with the help of
this database.
