INTRODUCTION
Information technology is defined as the use of any computers, storage and network and
other physical devices regarding the operating, creating, processing and securing all forms of
abstract data (Lee and et.al., 2018). Morrison is the fourth largest super market chain in the
market of UK providing the products and services to the customers.
Therefore, report will analyse different types of software and which type is important.
Moreover, ethical and social issues becoming important in the digital world will be discussed in
detail manner with the help of literature review and in analysis and discussion section of report.
Further, discussion will be done which will be based on analysing the impact of internet and
intranet on the businesses. Moreover, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will
help in providing basis of understanding towards useful in business of responding to customer
needs. Finally, discussing the role of IT in helping the managers to manage business will be
undertaken within report.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Theme 1 – Different types of software and the importance of the type
As per Mellblom and et.al., (2019), Software is defined as the set of instructions,
programs or data which is used to operate computers and specific tasks within the business and
this is understandable in the context of how effectively the company is undergoing the operations
and is using the tools and techniques in effective and significant manner. There are different
types of software which are mentioned as – application software, system software, driver
software, programming software etc. These are some different types of software which are used
by the businesses and this helps in understanding how effectively the business and the company
is working effectively. There are some physical aspects of the computer within describing the
software and its types.
As denoted by Moral-Muñoz and et.al., (2019), Application software is important for the
end user perform single or multiple tasks and this helps in ensuring the concerns related to
growth and development of the company at large scale. This is the major concern which is
related to understanding that the business of Morrison is able to create value and is analysing the
concerns related to growth and development at large scale. The integration of this application
software helps in delivering the extraordinary results and this helps to measure the concerns

related to how the software is being used within the company and is integrating the system in
effective and significant manner. With the help of the application software the business runs in
more effective manner as the operating problems are solved along with the processes which are

misuse of personal information, misinformation and fake news carried forward, lack of oversight
and non-acceptance of responsibilities, moral use of data and resources are the major ethical
issues which are identified in the digital world and in the technological world. It is very
important that the ethical issues are resolved in the processes and operations of digital world.
As stated by Dwivedi and et.al., (2021), There are some social issues which are identified
in the digital world and these are – cyberbullying, internet becoming dangerous to the users,
social abuse, online hate, cyber bullying, poor cyber security etc. There are certain issues which
are determined and are identified within the digital world. These social issues are important
which helps in analysing the concerns regarding the improvement needed within the digital
world. Both the social and ethical issues are increasingly becoming important which helps in
understanding the concerns related to eradicating these issues so that they do not hamper the
technology at large scale. This is the major concern which is related to knowing the points which
are helpful in understanding that the social and ethical issues are to be resolved.
Theme 3 – Effectiveness and efficiency of Information and Communication Technology
(ICT)
According to Kalid and et.al., (2018), Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
is the convergence of computing, telecommunication and government policies for how the
information is accessed, transmitted, secured, processed and stored within the systems. ICT
offers wide range of business processes and this helps improving the businesses which helps in

analysing the importance of how effectively the businesses are considering the company
processes at large scale. ICT and its applications helps in making the communication best and
fast and this makes the management resources more approachable and easy to access in more
effective and efficient manner. ICT makes the business more effective and efficient and this
helps in concerning the key points and which are related to business in effective and significant
manner. It also helps the business to grow so that the needs of the customers are listened and are
fulfilled accordingly. ICT helps in assisting the business activities which includes sales and
distribution, R&D, manufacturing, feedback, designing etc. This will help in understanding the

company in effective and significant manner. The internet helps in delivering the customers
support and fulfilling the requirements and needs of the customers. Impact of internet on the
business sis is that the employees are able to share information via internet and the training to the
employees is also done by the help of internet.
As per Teru, Idoko and Bello, (2019), There is higher impact of intranet of on businesses
as it helps employees to communicate and increase the productivity. Intranet is also a powerful
tool and technique which helps in addressing the key points related to improving the internal
business communication at large scale. Intranet helps in fostering the open discussion and

knowledge sharing among the teams and individuals. Intranet when used within the business
helps in making the process of documentation and searching very simple and in effective term.
Therefore, both the internet and intranet are helpful in addressing the key importance to the
business as it helps in creating value towards the process and operations of the company at large
scale.

As depicted by Tien, (2019), Information Technology (IT) is defined as the use of hardware,
software and services which are supporting infrastructure to manage and deliver the information
by using data, video and voice etc. IT helps in initiating the work and operations which are
undertaken in the business at large scale. There are points which are included within the analysis
of growing the business and engaging into new business so that there are perspectives which are
related to understand the concepts and concerns which helps in growing the business at large
scale. There is higher role of information technology in management decision making which is
observed in processes and operations which are undertaken in diverse manner. There are some
tools which helps in playing major roles and responsibilities within the company. These tools are
– ERP software and decision support systems which helps the managers to look at the
performance data in the real time so that they are able to make the informed decisions in
effective and significant manner.
As per Ashrafi and et.al., (2019), IT helps in managing the business by enabling the data to
help in planning the business journey accordingly by using the trends and information presented
in the data. IT helps in making the business effective and efficient so the challenges and
problems are solved in significant manner and at large scale. There are some major obstacles
which help in regaining the business requirements so that the company growth and development

It is analysed from the above literature review that different types of software were
discussed which was used within the company business which is Morrison. Moreover, the best
type of software was analysed and identified so that Morrison is able to review the operations

and processes which are undertaken in the company. It was also analysed from the above
detailed discussion that the application software is important in analysing the key points which
has been helping to initiate and address the key factors which are important at large scale. It has
been also discussed from the above literature review that ethical and social issues are important
in the digital world as they help in ensuring the problems and issues regarding the ethical and
social considerations in differentiate manner (Samimi, 2020). It was analysed that there were
some ethical issues which were addressed and these were the – misuse of personal information,
misinformation and fake news carried forward, lack of oversight and non-acceptance of
responsibilities, moral use of data and resources. Apart from this, there were also some social
issues which were identified and these were cyberbullying, internet becoming dangerous to the

which were impacting the business processes of Morrison.
It is also analysed from the above literature review that effectiveness and efficiency of
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was also identified and mentioned with the
key details and information that ICT played an important role in helping to fulfil the customer
needs and requirements in effective and significant manner. It was also analysed with the above
description that ICT played an important role in helping the business to grow and develop at
large scale and this also initiated the concerns which are related to improving the products and
services of the company in significant manner (Alam, 2020). Moreover, the literature review also
helped in providing the information about the impact of internet and intranet on the businesses
such as that of Morrison. There are some major concerns which are related to addressing the
points which are within the concerns regarding knowing the information technology which is
used by the company at large scale. It is also discussed from the above literature review that
internet and intranet played significant role in the business of Morrison.
Moreover, it is also discussed that internet played important role in promoting the business
and understanding the concerns related to knowing the effectiveness of the business at large
scale. It also helped in indicating the importance of internet and intranet which are significant
part of the business (Szymkowiak and et.al., 2021). The discussion also included the perspectives
related to knowing that there are positive points which are interrelated to knowing the points into
consideration. This helped in understanding the concerns related to how effectively the company

is able to evaluate and identify the key points which are important in the business of Morrison
and that helped the company to grow and develop effectively and at large scale.
Apart from this, role of IT in helping managers to manage business was also appreciated and
this helped in conducting the concerns related to how the business should be idealized and what
are the key points which are addressed within the business which is helping the business to grow
and develop in fulfilling the objectives (Markova and et.al., 2019). These are some of the key
points which were addressed within the literature review and this also denoted that there are
points which are evaluated by keeping in concern the perspectives of how the technology can be
used by the enabling the different processes and operations which are taken into concern in
effective manner. Information technology is the basis of how effectively and in appropriate
manner the Morrison can create value within their business and how the targets and objectives
cane be achieved for the growth of the company.
It was also discussed that IT played significant role in addressing and enhancing the
concerns and working within the society and this helps in regulating the aspects related growing
the business of Morrison. The major point of concern which was initiated within the discussion
in the literature review was that the business of Morrison was being improved by focusing on the
different perspectives related to understanding the key measures and points of improvement
made within the technology and this helped in channelizing the patterns which helps the business
of Morrison to generate the value of the profits and effectively implement the strategies within
the business so that the customer needs and wants are also satisfied (Akhmedov and et.al., 2020).
Therefore, it was also suggested from the above discussion and analysis that there has been
major significance of how effectively the points of consideration are noted and are evaluated so
that the business of Morrison is on the terms of growth and development in the market and is
able to achieve the targets in dignified manner.
There were also different tools and techniques which were discussed which were profitable
in the manner of achieving the significance of how effectively the company is framing strategies
and is providing the key points to be noted within the business so that the customers are also
satisfied and the company is also evaluating the key points within the business (Muchran and
Ahmar, 2019). It was also analysed and discussed that the key points which were highlighted
within the literature review were determined in the concerns regarding the points which is related

It has been also analysed from the perspective of growth that Morrison is also focusing the
key concepts and framing the strategies which are helping the business to initiate the key

consideration at large scale. This also helps in evaluating the success and loopholes which are
