INTRODUCTION
The topic for this assignment is information technology for business use. Information
technology refers to different system and software used by organisation that are related to some
technology. Information technology is used to perform different operation of the organisation
easily and efficiently. This assignment will include about different sources of referencing and
citation. This assignment will also include an annual budget which will include expenditure and
income on monthly basis.
TASK 1
To reference and cite the sources correctly
Referencing and citation provide Authentication of the work done in assignment. It
provides the lecturer with sources which are used to complete the assignment. Sources of the
assignment are correcting referenced and cited using Harvard referencing guide (Hair And et.al.,
2015). That provide proper guide for referencing citation of the sources of the assignment. .
In Harvard style referencing, sources are cited within the body of assignment which
include name of the author and date of publication of that source of information and all other
details about that sources is provided in the referencing list (Sigala, 2016). Harvard style of
referencing and citation is most commonly used under assignment as this style is convenient
from other styles of referencing and citation.
Another source of referencing and citation is provided by Cite them right. It is another
way through which students can use reference and cite them correctly using this source of
referencing. Cite them right is used to source a book , journal etc. Cite them right guide is used
to avoid plagiarism in referencing and citation of different sources of information required for
completing the assignment. This guide assist students in providing lecturers with reliable
information about the sources (Marques, 2019). Referencing provide reliable information to the
lecturer that the students have read the information about the subject widely and have done
proper analysis of the subject matter.
Referencing also assist in establishing credibility and authority of ideas and arguments.
Referencing assist in providing information to the lecturer that student have formed their own
views and opinion on the assignment provided to them. Referencing require knowledge of
computer and information about use of technology to make use of referencing and citation from
different sources (Schegg and Stangl, 2017). Another source of reference and citation include

referencing guide which provide different styles of referencing such as Harvard , APA etc(Smith
and Wong, 2016). which are used by person to provide proof of the information included in the
study. Projects provided by the lecturer need use of referencing guide to provide list of
references in the project to be submitted to get higher marks.
Without referencing data included in the project is unauthentic and there are high chances
of plagiarism in that project. Referencing is the process used to cite the sources, theories, ideas
etc. which are used in assignment.
Referencing provide acknowledgement of sources through which credit is given to that
person to use its ideas and thoughts to make the assignment authentic. Referencing is required to
show relevant sources which are being investigated to form ideas and thoughts. It also provides
documentary source for and argument included in the assignment. There are different referencing
guides used to reference and cite sources such as Harvard – university of Sunderland style guides
which provide references relating to book, journals etc.
Another source of citation is referencing guide through which different styles can be used
for referencing the information included in the assignment (Laudon and Laudon, 2016).
Referencing also assist other person to identify which sources are used to make the information
reliable.
Plagiarism is related to defining someone else work as their own which is related to
cheating. For example, using another work or ideas without providing credit to the original
source. Referencing is done to make the proper assumption and realistic work in order to pass
the assignment criteria (Avgerou and Walsham, 2017). Citation is done on the basis of references
provided in the list. References are done at the last page of assignment which include author
name, date of publication, books name and page number. But citation only include date of
publication and the name of author.
Referencing and citation of sources can be done correctly by following the guides of
referencing. Harvard style of referencing is the standard format that is used for referencing by all
the students other that student of law and psychology. The sources are identified from different
websites using information technology and use of computer. The referencing of the sources of
information helps the student in getting merit and distinction by providing the authenticity of the
work done in the assignment. To cite the reference in the information provided in the assignment

The reference material is inserted and then the author name initials are removed and date of
publication is added to the information.

On the basis of above monthly house budget it has been analysed that income for the
period is same however the expenses are increasing for the month. Total income for the period
January to December is 38000 and total expenses are different for each month due to changes in
the operating expenses for different months. Incomes such as salaries, rent and other incomes are
included and in expenses operating expenses and other expenses are included. Operating
expenses for January to Decembers is

CONCLUSION
From the above study it has concluded about sources of referencing that has included
different sources such as Harvard referencing guide, cite them right guide etc. It has also
included annual house budget which has included monthly incomes and expenses. Furthermore,
it has provided with information for using the power point presentation to make the assignment
attractive.
