Answer to question 1:
Information technology (IT) is the use of computers or any other devices in a connected
network to make, design or process all sorts of electronic tasks. The use of IT is done in the
companies or organizations which his involved in the making of technically related tasks
(Alhawari et al., 2013). However, the commercial use of IT surpasses the various computer
technologies and telephones. The basic involvement of IT is the presence of hardware, software
and network.
Answer to question 2:
Career is an important aspect in the lives of people. It helps to determine the way of
success of the individuals concerned. IT is an important aspect in the career as well as in the
companies or organizations involved. IT is a broad aspect and the presence of various domains
helps a student-pursuing career in IT know the challenges involved. IT has three fields, which
includes hardware, software and network. These are the main core aspects of an IT department
and students can apply to each one of them, as the scope for growth is very high.
Answer to question 3:
The IT department helps a business in many ways. The communication between the
various aspects is deployed in a much fast manner. It also helps in communication between the
business aspects without the need to stay together. The efficiency of the operation involved is
also streamlined by the presence of IT operations (Laudon et al., 2012). The use of IT operations
helps to provide a competitive advantage as the integration of the technologies in the business
makes the business more appealing to the customers. In addition, the cost for infrastructure is

also reduced as the economy is greatly enhanced for a company reducing the need for frequent
manual checks.
Answer to question 4:
The first recent IT technologies are the internet of things. This enables the presence of
various applications, which facilitates the communication with each other via the internet to
reduce the need for manual access (Liu & Wang, 2014). The second technology is the artificial
intelligence where the use of robots is done to increase the interaction among objects. The last
technology to be discussed is the cloud computing where the presence of cloud resources are
done which removes the presence and control of hardware.
Answer to question 5:
The enterprise architecture is used to provide a blueprint, which denotes the operating
structure, and the framework of the organization involved (Laudon et al., 2012). The use of this
enterprise is done to know the present and the future objectives of the company or organization
involved. Microsoft provides the various enterprise solutions, which includes the business
perspective, information perspective, application perspective and the technology perspective.
Answer to question 6:
The IT is a variable part of a company and the need to secure it is a major point of
concern for the concerned individual. The risks are to be mitigated as the presence of threats can
lead to fatal damages to the operations of the company or organizations involved (Schwalbe,
2015). The general risks are the hardware or software failures, malware or virus infection.

However, the criminal threats are the hacker and fraud problems and the breach associated with
them in the network.
