INTRODUCTION
Information technology is a useful source for business to gather data and
information. It also helps in improving business efficiency and growth. There are various
tools and software that are used by business in daily activities. The use of tools such as
power point, spreadsheet, etc. support in storing of data.
Assessment 1
It is very necessary to cite relevant sources in effective way so that it is easy for
user to understand it (Smith and Wong, 2016). This is because there are different types
of referencing styles available and each of them is having unique style of doing citation.
Referencing a site correctly enables in giving proof about secondary source from where
data is been selected. Moreover, selection of sources depends on what type of work is
been done. There is also a difference in citing source at minor and major points.
Alongside it, there are different forms of citation provided. So, it depends on type of
paper as well. For instance, in psychology or nursing paper usually different forms of
citation are used that vary from simple English class paper.
In Harvard only there are different types of referencing styles and citation
available. Furthermore, there are some guidelines which have to be followed. Basically,
Harvard references are used along with its citation. In Harvard in text citation contains
author surname, year and page number (Hamilton 2016). They are done as follows :-
When there is only one author it is as follows :-
James (2015, p. 254)
When there are two or three authors
James, Smith and Jones, (2015. P. 414)
When three or more authors
Michael et,al, (2019, p. 10)
There are various referencing standards that consist of information such as
author name, year, country, etc. (Williams and Davis, 2017) In APA the citations vary
and brackets are used properly. It is similar to Harvard one but there is minor difference
in it. For example –

In Oscola the guidelines are different. Here, references are inserted in footnotes.
Then, its citation is done. The citations done are according to numbers allotted to
reference. It means that [1] citation represents the first reference or source. An example
can be taken as :-

Cite them right can be used to cite references. It enables in proper formatting and
referencing. Also, the references selected should be proper and specific to topic.

Spreadsheets are used for financial calculations (Brander and et.al., 2019). It
contains some formulas which can be used for calculations and generating results.

A power point is a graphical representation of data and information. It includes
images, graphs, etc. through which it is easy to create presentation. They are usually
used for professional work. It is simple and very easy to use power point as it contains
features which are flexible to use. However, there are many default design and template
available which can be used. It saves time in preparing presentation.

CONCLUSION
From report it can be summarised that it is necessary to do citations of sources so
that its validity is justified. There are different types of referencing styles available such
as Harvard, APA, Oscola, etc. So, for each one various guidelines is followed. This
helps in citing the right source. MS excel is used to prepare budget so that monthly
income and expenses can be find out. Furthermore, MS power point is used to design
presentations. In that image, graphics, animation, chart, etc. can be added. This support
in preparing attractive presentation.
