INTRODUCTION
Information of technology includes the study and applications of computers and
telecommunications that store, retrieve and manipulate data. This term is widely used in business
and in the field of computing. Claridege's is a 5-star hotel, earlier known as Mivart's Hotel which
was founded in 1812 by St. George Jackson Mivart and later on in 1854 sold to Mr. and Mrs.
Claridege and named that hotel as Claridge's. This Article describes about the role of IT along
with their social and ethical issues. In addition this identify the various kinds of networking
technologies.

Role of IT in success and failure of an organization.
Information technology plays a crucial role modern business. In service sector role of
technology is revolutionary. Now a days every person is very much familiar with technology and
this has played a vital role in development of hospitality sector. In today's world each and every
organization want to use technology in their work, which help them to grow globally. As a coin
has two faces this also have some brighter and darker parts which can cause to success and
failure of an organization. Claridge is a big name in service sector of UK and they use
technology in their business to enhance it (Buabeng-Andoh, 2012) . Some roles of technology
will get discuss here, which are causes in success or failure of any organization:- Globalisation- Using technology help an organization to develop their business all over
the world, this also help to make their strategies more efficient by studding and viewing
successful strategies performed earlier by big organizations. This help Claridge to come
in lame light and also help to grow it's name all around the world. Surfing through online
sources like websites, customers from all over the world can find any essential
information they need about the facilities and services provided by hotel. Integration- Technology eases to manage the works and integrate them with each other.
This makes it easier to remind and manage collaboration between different resources and
services. Claridge also get this benefit in many ways, for example if some one from any
corner of world, books any service like room in their hotel using other online sources
rather then official website (Venkatesh, Thong, and Xu, 2012) . The booking will

automatically get reflected on software of management team, which help them to know
that their service has been booked by a specific person along with all details provided. Social Media- In recent phase of time social media is a biggest factor which is used by
organization for their business enhancement. It provide a good platform to show the
services and facilities they are providing, but rather then brighter side social media has a
large darker part. Fake news can get easily spread out by social media and this can affect
the goodwill of an organization like Claridge and this can also impacts the profitability of
organization (Dahlstrom, and Bichsel, 2014) . It is very easy to get details from social
media and other websites also, it hikes the probability for terror activities. For example, if
some one is planing for terrorist activity and gets the required details and information
from any social site about organization, then it will become easier for them to design and
execute their plan.
 Mobility- This the latest factor which creates a revolution in every sector, but it has a
special impact over management. Mobility involves use of iPads, smartphones, tablets in
system to make working easier and faster. Calridge also uses this in their organization to
make a better managing system. For example, let suppose in hotel they have staff of 100
employees for room service, to manage them main portal is at reception and each
employee has it's another end by which they get notified about work assigned to them.
This make it is easier to understand and remember for the manager at reception that to
whom, which and what duty was assigned and when it was get completed. This makes
the working of an organization faster, smoother and managed (Waser, 2012) . This also
reduces hand work and make manager feel relax over this complex set of work.
Ethical and Social Issues associated with Technology

Ethics is a branch of philosophy which states about rights and wrongs in terms of
morality, and problems related to these are ethical issues (Eason, 2014) . Countries like UK, are
very rich in the aspects of technology, have greater probabilities that the businesses will face
issues related to ethics. Calridge also has this threat and this can cost their goodwill as well as
their financial condition. Some of these general issues company may face are:- Hacking- Hacking is one of the biggest ethical crime, which is increasing at constant
rate. It is a process where a well trained computer programmer enters into the system

generally illegal activities and person performing it is a criminal. The information stolen
can be secrete and may be use for personal benefits and also to make any loss in favour of
organization. Content- This is said to be the information of or by organization. In today's era
technology has gone beyond the power and thinking, using technology it has become
very easy to modify or create fake videos and images, which looks like to be original
(Garvey, 2014) . A person can use this to miss guide public in case to respective
organization. At large scale it is a very costly process, that's why it is uses in businesses
rivalries to harm their competitors. Security- For an organization security is the basic factor, that they have to maintain in
proper manner, and managing a big security system manually is very tough task. That's
why technology plays a crucial role in management of security system (Kim, and et. al.,
2013) . For a well trained person it is very easy to find some loop holes in technology
used for managing the security system of an organization, and break it. This all can to
done to harm an organization or to perform any illegal activity.
Social Issues associated with Technology :
Technology seems all great but it has some issues on the society that some people might
not observe or recognize that they are a part of problem for the society. Some of the social issues
with our technology are described below: Loss of Concentration - The technologies having very adverse effects on people brains.
The challenges of modern devices are not handled by human brains, so they use modern
technologies which reduces concentration and way of thinking. After spending few years
on the internet, it is difficult to sit down and indulge in reading a book. People had loss
the ability to work on something serious. Threat to human health – Now a days people are spending more time on communicating
with friends on social media sites using new technologies. They are giving less time in
exercising and being active. This issue can create the mental health problems, depression
and obesity. Along with this, there is a possibility of loss of eyesight and hearing in
people who are spending more time with the technology and looking continuously at the
computer screens using headphones.

 Lack of Privacy - People are spreading and sharing their personal lives on social media
sites. These new technology encourage and motivate peoples to post their daily life
schedules on most of the sites (Marchewka, 2014) . This estimates that the lack of
privacy will only get worse with the further development of technology. This issue
initiate that the peoples itself doesn't have the sense of privacy.

The network allows computers to connect and interact with several computers via any
medium. The three types of networks are used to operate over the area they cover- LAN, MAN
and WAN. This geographical area is the primary difference of these networks (Prajogo, and
Olhager, 2012) . LAN covers local area, MAN covers metropolitan area, and WAN covers wide
area, which is the largest among all. There are similarities as well as dissimilarities between
