INTRODUCTION
Business information technology refers an effective system which is being used by
companies as it allows them to make expertise in decision making and problem solving
(Ababneh, Shrafat and Zeglat, 2017). This present study is based on Sainsbury which is well
known 2nd largest supermarket in the UK. It was founded by John James Sainsbury in the year of
1869. This present study is going to show importance and effectiveness of information
technology system as how it allows company in accomplishing their goals. It will also discuss
some roles of IT system and its software in making all functions of the company effective and
easier. Further, this study will show IT system roles in customers and knowledge management
and ways of storing and making use of all-important data.

Information technology system plays an important role and it helps company in
performing their all functions in an effective and timely manner. Some business functions of
Sainsbury are which need to be performed in an effective manner and all are being discussed
below along with use of IT system in all.
Introduction of organization: Sainsbury’s is the 2nd largest chain of supermarkets in the UK.
It has around 16% shares of supermarkets of the UK which makes it able to make its position in
the market. It has hypermarkets,

place customers feel valued as it saves
their time. It is also stated that it

competitive opportunity. It has several

and innovative it is thinking about

successful production department is one who produces products in a qualitative manner. For
improving quality of production process, company can use IT system, and some helps companies
in storing data and bringing innovation. With the innovation they can improve their production

main and big task for HR manager. They must face several problems which include retention of
employees, making people aware to adapt changes etc. For responding all these challenges and
solving problems in an effective manner they need to adopt new logics as well as changing way
of thinking (Zarrella and et.al., 2018). So, it can be said that with the help of information
technology systems. This system has increased efficiency of HRM by making use of software in
recruitment process, employees’ involvement, effective communication etc. With the help of IT
system, they can make their process E-HRM whose main focuses on interconnecting people with
business strategy for achieving adaption of rapid changing needs. Continuous innovation in
