The business of the travel agency is growing rapidly. The growth of travel agency is
dependent on the advanced information and communication technology. The use of information
and technology has helped the travel agency business to coordinate between the different factors
like the base of the consumers and the marketing policy (Law, Buhalis & Cobanoglu,2014). It
has also helped these agencies to locate new tourist spots and provide services in an effective
way. The main objective of this discussion is to identify the significance o the use of advanced
technology and the communication for the growth if travel agencies.
Discussion
The use of information technology in the growth of the travel agencies brings the
significant change in travel and tourism industry. The management of the travel agencies are
implementing information and technology for communication with the improvement of the
services. Some of the travel agencies are developing their own websites where the users can find
all the details regarding the packages and price for travelling. Apart from that some of the of the
travel companies are accepting the communication through internet for the marketing purpose
(Neuhofer,Buhalis & Ladkin,2015). The use of internet helps these agencies to distribute the
global marketing and providing different advanced services to the users like online ticket
booking services. The use of these advanced service are making the market competitive. These
advanced technologies are providing user friendly services along with that these innovative ways
of using technology are also changing the business situation of this sector.
It has been seen that the use of information technology has been used for performing
some specified tasks. Some of these tasks include passing of the information between travel

agents and the users, giving proper guidance to the travelers while travelling. In traditional
concept of running the travel agency permits the human interface of the travel agents to give the

to mitigate the chances to error along with it increases the flexibility of the system.
The significance of using the information technology in the distribution system of the
travel agencies cannot be denied. However, it is still unknown about the nature of the
relationship between the travelers, travel agents and environment. It can be said that the situation
can be changed however; the use of information technology in the travel business has brought
significant change in the doing of the business.
Conclusion
The discussion includes impacts of using technology in the business process of the travel
agencies. The discussion indicates that the use of advanced technology will help to create the
change in the business process in a positive way. This will bring the flexibility in the system as
well as the customer satisfaction. It can be concluded that the use of advanced information
technology will help to maintain the flow of communication in the business and can be
applicable for the improvisation and expansion of the business.
