The business process has a series of steps that is followed to achieve a concrete goal.
There are many steps that are repeated by more the one users and optimized the process. It
details all the steps, decision making and tasks required to obtain efficiency and effectiveness to
the max. The business process describe here is simple and defined well to successfully manage
the delivery and payment of the order. The business process has been visualized as a workflow in
this whole process. The figure shown above model a process in BPMN 2.0 software were a
selling and buying of books that are of second hand are again resale. The book purchase from the
previous students and then again selling to the next student in their next course of Study. The
student will sell the book to the individual and will receive the payment based on the condition
of the book. The book will be collected and send to the seller of the book. The seller will keep all
list of the book and the list of the price. The order process pool contains three sub-pools namely
sales, payment and delivery. The Sales process contains the activity where books are recorded to
buy and sell. The student who are willing to buy the book, the system checks the availability and
then once confirm the payment is collected. The Payment information is stored in the database
and the message is send to the student about the payment confirmation. From the payment part of
the amount is given to the University and some part of the payment is given to the Seller. The
university provide concession for the individual who is processing the business for the student.
The buying and selling of books performance multiple time. Thus, it has been modelled in a
separate pools. None of the pool are independent from each other but are connected with each
other through some or the other activity. The books that has to be resale are considered only for
those that are in good condition. Since the University has award a concession for the resale of the
second hand book, a part of the amount that is 10 % fee for selling each book as a concession
licence fee would need to be given to the university. And some part of the amount that is 30%

fee need to be paid to the books seller. The sub-process has a payment process where a request
when receive for the payment, the mode of payment is done through credit card or debit card or
net banking which is then receive and confirmation being provided to the student for delivery of
the book. An invoice is created and send to the student. During the issue with the payment when
it is not confirm, a message is being send to the student for the cancellation of the payment and
the book. The model also contain a book delivery process that will be done physically by a
courier business mostly the FedEx or DHL courier. Once the payment get confirm, a request
being send to the delivery team. The delivery team further prepare document for the shipment
and collect the book order. The book is then further deliver by the DHL or FedEx and the student
receive the message for delivery confirmation and the delivery acknowledgement receipt is
received from the student. The whole process is digitized into this model for a complete process
of Buying and Selling of the books using the BPMN.
