How do you define business?
Business can be defined as an enterprise in which people come together to work and
obtain a common goal. Business comprises of professional, commercial and industrial activities.
Business can be categorized into two types which are profit making organizations and non-profit
making organizations. The intention of a business to offer its services and products in the market
by selecting a target audience to whom, they will be offered. The main objective of business, as I
have learnt, is to engage in an exchange for the money, in return for products and services which
are needed (Jeston & Nelis, 2014). Businesses help in the process of economic development with
the aim of utilization of resources in a better way.
Why did you choose this course?
The decision of choosing this course is eventual as my previous experiences enriched me
to choose this one. My previous experiences define this choice. However, my past experiences
are not the sole reasons behind the choice of this course. I was always eager to learn about
management theories, business environment and strategies which are very important to make
growth and excel in the fast paced world. The Master of Business Information System course has
a design which allows the students to learn different things and grow insights about businesses
and Information Systems across the world. The course will help me build a career focusing on IT
and other areas which include information management, project management, IT management,
knowledge management and so on. Knowledge of different business roles will allow me to take
up roles and undertake responsibilities (Allan & Driscoll, 2014). I dream of owning my own
business, for which the course will be of immense help to make professional growth and
development of insights.

What kind of past experience (OR INTREST) do you have in this area?
The previous experiences which have acquired has led me to take up the professional
management course. I have been associated with a business, in which my interest in the area
grew (Allan & Driscoll, 2014). It helped me realize my dreams, which are related to business and
management. Therefore, I realized the importance of the course. I have also served as an intern
in ta company, where I could learn various things about business and management according to
the roles and responsibilities I was given. I led a project in the business, for which I had to meet
deadlines and lead other members in the team towards a collective goal. The experience has
allowed me to grow personally as well as professionally.
How has your experience (academic, work, etc.) prepared you for this course?
The experience which I acquired from my previous work place and internship has helped
me to make progress academically. I have realized that there are many things which are yet to be
learnt, in order to make progress and grow (Allan & Driscoll, 2014). The experience of working
in a company has enabled me to take up responsibilities and live up to my job roles. Whereas,
my previous education has allowed me to learn about management and the skills which are
required to lead a team for success (Jeston & Nelis, 2014). I would be able to value classroom
learning because of my previous experience of learning about business and management and
enhance, learn more about effective management of operations in a business.
How do you ensure the required outcomes of your course are met?
I wish to meet the required outcomes from the course by demonstrating knowledge, hard
work and measurable skills which I would get to learn during my course. These will help me
understand management programs with much ease and comfort which I will be able to use for

my own betterment. I look forward to learn theories and concepts which will help mw achieve
success in future as well as be applied for my own advantage (Sarrab, Al-Shihi, & Rehman,
2013). The course will also help me set my personal goals. I expect to learn the most essential
things during the course and make use of the same while managing operations and undertaking
of crucial roles in an organization.
What can you do to manage and monitor your studies to a successful conclusion?
I aim to monitor my progress and manage my studies by emphasizing on the scores
which achieve during the course. Based on the courses, I will be able to assess my progress and
work hard accordingly to achieve the expected outcomes. Feedbacks are very important for
progress which will help me monitor the efforts which are to be put, in order to be successful.
As you think about the future, how might you apply your studies in later life?
The course will help me gain insights about businesses and the realities. I have little
experience of the past, whereas, I would like to maximize that during the course period by being
diligent and hardworking. The determination to achieve goals and make professional
development will help me make progress. A better education, from the course will help be
become a business manager and strive towards the goal.
What kind of goals would you like to set for yourself with regards to this course?
The goals which I wish to achieve at the end of the course is to acquire business and
management skills. I wish to learn more about leading members in a team to undertake
managerial and leadership oriented roles in future. This would help me effectively manage
operations in an organization. I wish to learn more about change in an organization, which is
