Research Methodology:
1. Introduction
As I am a researcher in Inno-Tech Ltd company and my company wants me to conduct small study
discusses how digital revolution has affected the environment that’s why it’s my responsibility to
complete a computing research project using digital technology such as AI and IoT. I will present the
entire computing research effort in this project. Involving myself in a certain area. I will discuss the
proper methodologies and research procedure for primary and secondary research in this part. I will
therefore attempt to cover all aspects of primary and second research, I will give a brief explanation of the
term, an illustration how to do research as well as its benefits and drawbacks. In order to support my
choice of research methods and analysis, I will further examine methodologies and procedures for
conducting research in relation to a computing project. I will talk about primary research first, and then
secondary research.
1.1 Research methods type:
1.2 Primary Research:
Primary research fills the gaps in knowledge that secondary research techniques were unable to fill.
Primary research’s main objective is to offers solutions that are pertinent to the issue at hand.
Although, such research is quite beneficial it takes longer for conduct than secondary research due to
its nature. After identifying the gaps in the present secondary research, the goals of primary research
are to gain knowledge and find answers to questions that have never been asked before because
primary research frequently requires more time and ha higher related expenditures.
The conduct of primary research should wait until after secondary research has been completed.
Because primary research requires more resources than secondary research, it is crucial to keep this in
mind. When conducting primary research, the research team is accountable for all decision, including
what precise metrics should be used and which manner will best reach the target audience. It is
crucial to carry out secondary research before to ascertain what material is not already available in
order to avoid spending time and money on redundant primary research.
1.2.1 Types of Primary Research Method
Meaningful data is more valuable than gold in today’s technologically evolved culture. To make informed
judgments, organizations and enterprises needed data that had been sufficiently evaluated. In order to
ensure data authentically and to obtain first-hand information free of any modifications may business
decide to go out and get their own data.

Here are a few of the most common methods for gathering data that businesses and organizations utilize
for their studies:
Interviews (telephonic or face-to-face)
Participant interviews have long been used as a qualitative research technique. You can conduct these
interviews over the phone or in person (face-to-face). A dialogue or interaction between the
interviewer (a researcher) and the subject, also known as the responder takes place during an
interview which is as open research technique. Conducting face-to-face interviews is believed to get
better responses from respondents since it is a more personal method. However, a face-to-face
interviews success is strongly influenced by the researcher’s ability to ask problems questions and
prior experiences conducting interviews of a similar nature. The majority of this kind of research
employs open-ended inquiries. These issues assist to give a thorough knowledge of the respondent’s
opinions and perceptions. The length of the interview can range from 15 to 30 minutes, depending on
the research topic.
Online survey
Surveys have advanced greatly since they were first written on paper. The majority of academics now
distribute online surveys to collect data from them. Information they provided online. Convenient
online surveys can be completed either online surveys can be completed either online or via email.
Mobile devices like smartphones, tablets and other similar gadgets can access these. Participants are
given a set length of time after surveys launch to complete the survey questions and return them to the
researcher. To get as much information as possible from respondent, surveys should utilize a healthy
mix of open-ended and closed-ended questions. It is a great idea to thank survey takers for their time,
effort and valuable feedback by offering rewards after they complete the survey successfully.
Focus group
Information is acquired from a small group of participants typically no more than 6-10 using this kind
of linked research. Focus groups bring experts in the field together to talk about the study issue.
Businesses and organizations can utilize this strategy, particularly to locate markets and comprehend
a certain customer group. A focus group moderator stimulates discourse among the members to
acquire a deeper understanding.
Observations
In this fundamental research technique, the researcher and the topic are in close contact. A researcher
observes a subjects responses while taking notes. The responses are captured on cameras or by skilled
observers. An example of a predetermined setting where observations are made is when to know IT
company wants to know what customers thin of their newest products. Customer initial responses
would be noted by the observer and overall data would be examined to draw conclusions.
1.2.2 Advantages of Primary Research
One of the facts that the data is accurate and is its main benefit. The number are not diluted in
order organizations. This research methodology can also be changed to satisfy particular
requirement as well as organizational needs.
Because primary research focuses on the subject at hand, all attention is focused on determining a
plausible resolution to a particular problem. Thanks to primary research, academics may examine
a subject in depth and consider all visible solutions.

Since primary research is an established method, the finding of this kind of study may be trusted.
Disadvantage of Primary Research
One of the main difficulties of primary research is the expensive research cost of doing it. A
significant financial expenditure can be necessary depending on the setting or primary research
method. Every business or organization might not be able to spend a sizable amount of money.
Conducting this kind of study might be time-consuming. Conducting interviews and sending and
receiving online survey can be difficult processes; for the process to be successful, patience and
effort must be expended. Additionally, it will require additional time to analyze the findings and
apply the learnings to enhanced the good or services.
Using just one main research strategy might not always be enough. Multiple techniques must be
employed in certain situations, which could length the process and increase the expense of the
study process.
