Reflective Log

From the present module, I am able to understand various concepts related to innovation
and risk management. I acquired various benefits with the completion of this module where first
among them is proper usage of time management principle. It is a crucial concept that increases
the frequency of performing a task. As an individual, I am able to understand the importance of
time while executing each and every task of module. I adopted the technique of prioritising work
according to its importance and set deadlines. Activities that are urgently required and act as
prime structure of module should be conducted first. The one which is of less significance can be
undertaken as to be carried out later on. The next step after prioritising is to prepare schedule to
implement theories related to innovation and risk management. In order to resist risk factor
during creation of any innovation, one needs to take time as essential factor. SMART goal
setting model proposed me to make efforts on the basis of four major elements that are specific,
measurable, attainable, reliable and timely.
Apart from this, developing time management techniques has also benefited me to
improve my creativity. It improved my ways and techniques to find study material for the
module. The learning process was enhanced to new horizons. I was addressed with various new
concepts that encountered by me for the first time. In order to conduct any innovation, one needs
to possess ability to find new ways for processing existing concepts. It builds my confidence and
improved my resisting power to face any critical condition. These are main benefits which are
achieved by preparing module on innovation and risk management.
The project definitely availed me productive and good experience. I acquired extensive
knowledge and insight to forecast upcoming future events. But, I also faced certain issues during
preparation of this project. I would like to discuss them; at first, I lacked expertise in performing
research work. I faced many trials and tribulations during research work process that slower
down my consistency and efficiency. Certain critical conditions took place like duplication of
efforts, inappropriate data analysis and repetition of similar facts and figures. My technical
knowledge about the mentioned concept was not relevant. This acted as de-motivating factor for
me although proper guidance from my mentor helped me to better understand the technical part.
Coordination among different risk management activities is an essential factor. I faced
challenges while coordinating different activities taking place simultaneously. It reduced my
speed and fluency to execute different operations. It is a well known fact that cooperation and
coordination helps to build team spirit among individuals. The module improved my knowledge

and concepts related to innovation and risk management theory. In the nutshell, I can conclude
that it was a fruitful experience for me. It enhanced my knowledge through achieving detail
analysis of the concerned topic. I undertook in depth study of various modules learnt throughout
my undergraduate programme. My productivity and performance have enlarged with acquisition
of this project. I came to know about the fact that this study will provide me benefits in the
coming future as well.
