improves its efficiency. Innovation coupled with technology helps in solving a real problem in a
simple way. Innovation optimizes the learning procedure and enhances the educational pedagogy
(Ferguson & Sharples, 2014). Innovation in educational technology therefore has a huge impact
on both the students and the teachers. Therefore, it can certainly be said that innovative
pedagogy has a significant place in the educational context.
What is innovative Pedagogy?
Innovative pedagogy is a methodical approach of learning that defines a way in which
knowledge is assimilated and used that in turn gives rise to innovation. In general, pedagogy is a
process by which one can transmit its knowledge and values to the other people. If this process
can be coupled with innovation, it can definitely enhance the interest of people in receiving the
skills and knowledge that is being shared. Innovative pedagogy explores the new forms of
teaching that guides the teachers in productive innovation. Innovative pedagogy can further be
explained as a study of being an innovative educator. It helps in exploring the different forms of
teaching and learning. Innovative Pedagogy therefore, finds a significant place in educational
sector as well. The innovative pedagogy therefore, helps in preparing students to be more
creative and analyze a particular situation in a more innovative way (Beetham & Sharpe, 2013).

Innovative pedagogy holds a very important place in educational context. With the
advent of technology, new and innovative ways of education has evolved as well. I think it is
very important to recognize and adapt to changes of the teaching styles. One of the major reasons
of this change is the advent of new technology. Every industrial sector is making use of
technology to innovate the ways of doing business. Innovation can benefit the educational
process in a number of ways, which includes use of smart devices for providing 24*7 accesses to
the learning resources. This will furthermore, provide an easier way to connect to the teacher
whenever required. It will become easier for the teachers as well to remain in touch with the
students. Furthermore, the use of innovative pedagogy improves the process of knowledge
transfer to the student. An example of innovative pedagogy includes the use of mobile learning
system in schools and universities (Nguyen, Barton & Nguyen, 2015).
Other examples of innovative pedagogy includes cross over learning, such as learning in
museums. This helps in increasing the interest of the students towards the learning process. This
helps in enriching the experience of the subjects and the topics that are being taught in schools
and colleges. The crossover learning furthermore helps in exploiting the strengths of
environment and provides the students, an authentic and engaging source of learning (Hénard &
Roseveare, 2012).
Learning through argumentation is another example of pedagogy in educational context.
Argumentation advances the process and understanding the science and mathematics by arguing

exploring different contrasting ideas that further deepens their knowledge. It is the responsibility

This in turn helps in enhancing the students’ knowledge in that particular area.
Context based learning as an innovative pedagogy helps in learning from experience by
interpreting the new information in context of its occurrence. Context based learning helps in
interacting with the surroundings and interpreting new information in the process.
Computational thinking is another powerful approach towards innovative pedagogy. It
deals will breaking a large problem into smaller ones and solving it. The computational thinking
skill is therefore valuable in different aspects of life (Kettunen, Kairisto-Mertanen & Penttilä,
2013). Guiding the students towards computational thinking helps the students in structuring the
problems, which in turn will help in enhancing their decision-making capabilities.
Adaptive teaching helps is another type of innovative pedagogy that makes use of a
learner’s previous learning in personalizing the educational content. Therefore, it can be said
that innovative pedagogy holds a significant place in modern educational contexts.
Implication of innovative pedagogy revolution in education
Innovative pedagogy holds a significant place in education as creative teaching helps in
identifying and stimulating the creativity of the students. A number of universities and schools
are making use of innovative pedagogy for imparting education to their students. However, there
are certain constraints associated with this process. One of the major constraints is development
of an environment for imparting practical knowledge to the students (Ellis & Goodyear, 2013).
Furthermore, the teachers should be trained enough to adapt to the new ways of providing

Therefore, from the above discussion it can be concluded that technological
advancements have a huge effect in the educational context. Pedagogy is a process of transfer of
knowledge and skills to other individual. Innovative pedagogy in education can be implemented
in a number of ways crossover learning, learning through argumentation, context based learning
and computational thinking. This if implemented properly can help in enhancing student’s
knowledge. However, in order to implement innovative pedagogy in educational context, the
schools and universities at first need to develop a proper environment for the same. Innovative
pedagogy is capable of enhancing students’ practical knowledge subjected to its delivery in
proper form. For that, apart from the students, the teachers need to be trained about this new
process in order to obtain successful results.
