Instagram is known to be a social networking
application which has been developed for
sharing photos and videos. User can easily add
caption to each of the post and make use of
hashtags and location based aspects. The
platform allow the individual to make their
profile private so that only their followers can
view the post.
Data Privacy
Privacy on Instagram platform comes into
question after when the Facebook bought the
application. The latest update on Instagram has
feeling of most of the user like their activities
on Instagram. The application will have only
the public information. Some of the features of
application come up from the use of app.
Privacy rights
Instagram cannot sell the photos of user
but it can take the photos of individual
and change them it in meaningful way.
User can easily share photo on
Instagram and there is much not the
organization can do to make money. The
company can make use of those photos
and data to sell ads.
Solution
There is a list of ways which can be used
for data privacy on Instagram like
1. User need to go profile section by
tapping the person icon just on the
lower right corner of screen. After this
user need to swipe to left and tap on the
setting gear icon which appears.
2. After that user need to select “privacy
and security” then the account privacy.
3. User need to toggle the private account
on.
