other through message, calling or video calling. After the launch of Facebook, it became an
integral medium of communication for every youngster. Earlier when kids used to ask for
opening the account on Facebook, parents were giving them the permission very easily because
it is the platform where children can explore the whole world and gain knowledge. All the
teenagers were very interested in using such social media tools. As the time passes by it starts
becoming an integral part of everyone's lives. Slowly, all the age group members starts
registering on Facebook, and youngster's starts feeling quite depressed as they are not able to
express their feeling more openly.
This is the point of time, when the social media experienced the whole new level of
communication medium – Instagram. This platform is more cooler way of interaction for today's
generation and literally it has become the playground for the youngsters. This gives the
opportunity to interact with more number of people which will be helpful while doing business.
Facebook bought Instagram for US $1 billion in cash and stock. After the launch, Instagram got
1 million users in just 2 months. Rapidly people starts registering and it gained 700 million users
as of April 2017. It gives new and vast opportunity to expand the business. During my visit to
Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya, I found that most of the young people are using this medium to
expand the business and to generate more opportunities.
A very interesting fact is that over 400 million people are using Instagram daily. This
platform is having over 40 billion photos and on an average 3.5 billion daily likes and 80 million
photos uploaded daily. It is becoming very popular in promoting the business. Here, once can set
up their brand's page and post the pictures which will attract more number of users. Here,
organization can grow their audience by giving them discounts and offers to attract consumers.
But as the time passes the social networking sites are becoming a hostage for their loyal users,
the same thing happened with Instagram also when they changed their logo. But it is owned by
Facebook, so people can trust this very easily.
As per the statistics, more than 80% user of Instagram are from outside US. They are
mainly coming from the Latin America, Asia and Africa. Now in these continents, the networks
