1INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN ON WEB BASED CLASSROOM
Reflective essay
Instruction Design (ID) is referred to as a process of systematic design through which
instructional processes could be designed, developed and delivered as well. Regardless of the
type of interface that has to be delivered, instructional design is very much important for the
designer. This particular reflection depicts the impact of ID in web based classroom on both the
instructors and educators. I have realized that ID for web based classroom is very much effective
and beneficial from the teachers and learner’s perspectives. In order to understand that whether
the e-classroom is effective or not we have gathered data through primary survey by developing
survey questionnaires.
I have learnt that this kind of classroom avoids the traditional form of face to face
knowledge transfer rather it is a kind virtual class. During the design phase of such classroom I
have learnt that, instructional design, instructional technology, learning experience design,
curriculum design are complimentary to each other. Without any of this process the theory or
practices will fail to implement the desired activity and their relevant facilities as well. From a
current survey I came to know that, the behavior of the learners and the instructors varies a lot in
traditional ambiance and in this web based classroom ambiance. After surveying both the
traditional and the current Instruction Design used for developing web based classroom I can say
that the web based classroom is much beneficial from the learner’s perspectives because in this
kind of environment the learners get opportunity to interact with the instructors regardless of
their location and time.
I have learnt that, the content delivery approach is different in case of web based virtual
classroom. Likewise I have also found that, there are many such educators who are pessimistic

about the virtual classrooms. Apart from this, I have also realized that, this kind of virtual
classrooms are effective only in specific demographic region. After analyzing the positive
functionalities and operational ability of the virtual classroom, I have learnt that, it leads the
learners towards effective time management and conductive environment as well. This web
based classroom also sharpened the digital skill of the educators and instructors. I have found
that the learners will become much productive and confident as it is consists of different
interactive collaborative tools in terms of email communication, online test etc.
I think that the issues of test and its results also get resolved with the advanced ID for
web based classroom because the learners do not have to wait for the results. I have found that
the advanced functionalities and operation of the online classroom also attracts huge number of
students across the world. The learners can also share their diverse culture with both the teachers
and other students because a classroom might hold students from different countries. Through
varied processes such as live video, synchronous learning session recording etc the performance
level outcome of the online classroom also improves a lot.
I have learnt that, the instructional design shapes learning experience in a much
systematic way that could provide effective solution to both the learners and instructors. This
way could even construct a bridge to fill the gap between the traditional learning approach and
advanced online web based virtual classroom.
I have understood the primary benefit of instruction design which is consists of a set of
stages. However, in order to make the web based classroom beneficial and effective to the
learners and instructors simultaneously, it is necessary for the instruction designer to consider all
necessary factors, methods and strategies as well. I think that not only consideration of design

factors but also the methods and strategies should be organized in an accurate manner to
implement the ID for developing web based classroom effective and beneficial. I found that
through synchronous learning the professors and learners can interact and connect with each
other much easily. Simultaneously, each accurate tool should be utilized by the ID for
developing the web based classroom instructional designers to implement the virtual classroom
as an improved version of the traditional classroom. From the overall analysis result, I have
understood that the learning resources can be significantly improved through the online web
based classroom. I think the online web based classroom can connect the students with real time.
