INTRODUCTION
Instructional technology is describes as the use of lots of digital technology such as web
basis application, internet, computer devices and more facilities that made an positive impact on
the learning of the student in the classroom as well as other places. It contains a huge array of
devices and software that can be access anywhere and on any time. This type of instructional
technologies is for the better learning of the students. It is the theory and the practices of making
use of technology for the education purpose. Technology is widespread among schools and the
ability to make access to the computers have been become so much necessary that digital devices
are replacing the use of pen and paper. It is been analysed that technology has the capability to
make profound changes in the process of teaching and learning and it builds multiple
opportunities that helps in collaboration, engagement and the support. Instructional technology
encompasses the design, development and the management that helps in evaluating the education
system. There are many benefits of instructional technology and its application of it have
effectively proves in achieving future goals. It involves many activities in it such as
management, design, development and making evaluation of the technology(Demiroz and
Waldman, 2018) . The aim of this report is to highlight the role of instructional technologies in
the education with that the issues and the challenges in the education technologies. It also
consist the solutions of the issues of educational technology.

Instructional technologies are defined as the processes which contributes in enhancing both
the teaching and the learning methods by infusing the instructional development and the design
with the different tools. The main aim of instructional technologies is to build engaging and the
effective learning experiences through the use of available technological tools (Fusco,2019) . It
consists either the software and the hardware which is used to improve performances.
Instructional technology is also called digital education. It encompasses the wide range
applications with its effective implementations. Technology is having the wide scope of learning
and provides easy access to the students to any learning project. It accelerated the catching
power in the students and the most important part of it is that it generated fun opportunities to
practice what they learn from the particular projects and tasks. It plays a very important role in
the advancement of the education, some of the factors are given below:
 Increased collaboration and the communication- Instructional technologies is making
very important role fostering collaboration. It not only helps in teachers connection with
the students in the learning sessions but the students can communicate with each other. It
provides the sessions and the learning games to the students which make interaction easy
with one another. By the online lessons and the learning activities helps students to work
in the collaboration and to solve the problems together(Hodges,2018). These
instructional technologies allows students to share their thoughts and the innovative ideas
in order to enhance the learning ability and to support each other.
 Personalized learning opportunities- Instructional technologies allows the all day
access to various educational resources . Which allows to learn and teach with the
flexibility. Learning classes can take on the online basis with the use of the mobiles and
the laptops from anywhere according to the suitability. Regular learning from the
classroom sessions from the effective use of the technology. The data that is generated
from the online activities allows teachers to check and see the student struggled in the
particular subjects and they provided extra help and assistance to the students. It makes
student to asked any queries without any hesitation of others.
 Improved teacher productivity and the efficiency- Technology plays an essential role
in achieving new level of productivity. Implementation of the technology expands the
learning opportunities for both the teacher and the students and make increment in the
engagement level. It enables the teachers to make improvement their instruction methods

and personalize learning. Schools and the institutions can take advantage from
technology by make reductions in the expenses that has been made on the physical

Issues and the challenges with the instructional technologies.
While technology is used more often in the education sector to make the learning process
easy and accessible because many teachers and the students are struggling with the traditional
way of teaching or learning which has some drawbacks in it. As instructional technology
provides many easy ways to learn but still there is challenges and the issues in the process of
instructional technology as these care no. of factors that a person have to considers before using
these technologies and by the implementation of these technology there are some challenges that
proves to be hazardous for the learning process of the student(Knowlton, 2018) . There some
challenges and the issues of instructional learning that are given below:
 Students misusing the technology- With the introduction of the technology in the
classroom , there is a possibility that a student may misuse it mostly for the entertainment
purposes rather than educational purposes. With the greater access of the technology
there are ways by which students attempt to access gaming, social media , making search
for the inappropriate content and the by the use of the technology in inappropriate time.
Such as in the online classes with the flexibility of taking classes from anywhere, many
students minimizes the class and instead of learning they play games and operating social
media (Monette, 2021) . It is largely analyses that these technologies are making bad
impact in the learning skill of the students and are making them unable to learn and study
effectively.
 Teacher knowledge and professional development- There is a major issue in
integrating technology into the classroom is lacking of knowledge , the understanding of
how to make efficient use of the technology and feels discomfort while using it. And
there is a problem of teachers because they are struggling with professional development
resources that provides help in gaining knowledge and introduce them with the
technology reliability and make enhancement effectively. Teachers are the base for the
education system, they are the knowledge providers and by distributing wrong knowledge
to the students proves to be hazardous for the society.
 Keeping student safe online- The increasing popularity of the technology in the
education also leads to the concern in the context of keeping student safe while using it.

With the increment in the access in instructional technology leaves a student open to
many other problems by intentionally or otherwise being exposed to the hazardous
content . There are online predators, scammers, hackers and cyberbullying that
challenges the security factors of the student as well as the teachers. There are cases of
the student being faced this type of situation which impacted the students badly in their
future prospects.
 Cost of the technology- The another problem with the use of technology in the
education is the increasing cost of the technology. The problem is to bringing new
updated technology into the classroom because not all the classroom have enough
budgets to sustain and maintain the regular technology (Monti, 2019) . There is a issue
of providing proper technological advancement to the student as accessibility of
technology without proper tools is proves to be waste for the education.
 Keeping up with the changes - Technology is the industry which is constant evaluation
and the education technology quickly become unavoidable as ii provides so much
flexibility in education sector. But there are the barriers in the technology as well because
teachers struggle in introducing technology in the classrooms and keeping up the
classrooms with the changes and the trends. It proves to be much costly in updating
technology as per the changes in the market whereas there are the schools and the
institution who didn't have the access of the basic technology and to makes constant
change is impossible for those institution.
 Poor Network infrastructure- By simply handling technological tools won't enough for
the students and it won't make any beneficial effects in the learning of the students.
There is a need of strong network infrastructure with fast high quality network at the
school with the data privacy and security and access to the digital resources (Song, 2022)
. By designing , building and maintaining a strong infrastructure in the learning process
of the student proves to be effective and beneficial for the student.
 Unreliable devices and software- The is lack of strong infrastructure can also cause
because of the lack of reliable devices and the software, which is p[roving major barriers
in the adoption in the education technology. These unreliable devices can simply be a
notebook that doesn't provides its function properly(Markey, Schmidt and Park, 2021).

Although education technology is powerful tool and software that needs to be consistent
and reliable to generate viable option in the future.
 Administrators don't want to change in terms of technology- Another challenges that
is faced in the instructional technology is the fact that administrative departments are
unable to adopt it. There are various reasons of it such as budget considerations with that
the benefits as the education technology are not yet well defined. It makes it challenging
in specific areas.
 Failures of personalize learning- There is a huge gap in learning thorough technology
and by learning personally without the help of technology. Students are more open and
effective in learning with the personalized instruction as their minds tend to receive only
personalized learning. On the initials ways it is important to provide them learning with
the personalized experiences.
 Failure to use technology to deliver effective formative assessment- With the
changing world in terms of technology , it is also making change in the education sector
by instructional technology which provides the tools that helps the students in their
effective learning but sometimes technology fails to deliver the effective knowledge.
Despite the increment in the technologies there is a problem in the proper implementation
of it(Nethi and Simonson, 2020) . The lack of understanding in the means of technology
is very common among the students as they found the traditional methods of teaching
more effective. And sometimes teachers found problems in understanding the code of
conduct of the instructional technology.
 Limited time in learning- Technology gives students and the teachers time to learns and

time, a student cannot ask again and again to the teachers ans sometimes a student cannot
even express themselves properly. Technology provides them limited time to ask and
without the face to face interaction its, being difficult for them to communicate
effectively. Students found it less effective in their learning process as there is tendenvy
in some students to ask repetitively with the teachers about each and every thing in the
learning process nut with the instructional technology a person cannot communicate back
to back with the teachers.

 Lack of teacher's competency- In the instructional technology a teachers re unable to
contribute themselves as they are in the traditional methods in the technology. Its
inappropriate and less effective for them to provide knowledge for them.
 Complexity in implementation of theses new tools in the instructional technology-
There are complex technology that are difficult to use and requires extensive trainings
and the integration into the programmes that are running into existing platforms.
Adoption of these technology with high rates and needed additional times in the process
of its implementation. Its proves to be very challenging for the student and the teachers to
learn the code of conduct. There is difficulty in understanding the tools that newly set up
and ultimately requires time and proves to be challenging for those who are using it.
 Technological security- With the emerging technology in the education sector makes
each and every person to use instructional technology in their learning process with
multiple benefits in it there are also issues with it, from which student have to deal with
it. And the most critical issue of that is the security challenge which makes the student
and there data vulnerable to everyone and there is a chances of being misused by many
people.
Appropriate solutions to manage instructional technology.
In order to maintain the effective and valuable use instructional technology ,there is a
need to generate appropriate solutions of the challenges and the issues that are faced by the
students and the teachers while using these technologies as the learning process. There is need of
application of the suitable solutions to the problems and some of the solutions are given below:
 Implementation of limited access to the internet-The issue of misusing the technology
by the students can be addressed by loch the student devices at a times when they did not
need it. Avoiding the use of the technology when not necessary makes the student less
reliable on the technology . By managing the internet access by the students and by the
blocking the sites which proves to be harmful for the students restrict the misuse of the
technology by the learner.
 Providing training and education to the teachers- Thee are large section of the
teachers who does not know how make access to the particular technology . By the
program Go-guardian's teachers scheme which provides training to the teachers on how
teachers can use the program and the technology in the process of digital learning in the

classrooms(Webb, 2022). In this scheme teacher can take the help of the Go-guardian's
team in order to get assistance with that there is a large section of the teachers who get
the access of this program. This scheme gives ideas to integrate technology into the
classroom.
 Providing safer environment on internet- With the enhances popularity of instructional
technology and the benefits of it there are the disadvantage also that brings the problem
in the learning process of the students. With the increasing negative environment on the
internet there are the chances of hacking and cyberbullying. But with the help of the soft
wares which works as the blocking and giving smart alerts, have been shown to be very
much effective for maintaining safer internet environment. It not only reduces the risk of
cyberbullying but also makes students safer and teach tee to be the responsible citizens.
 Providing cost effective technology- Technology provides very efficient learning to the
students but it needs regular costs in it. The people who can't bear the cost of the
technology can't take the advantage of it . There are the programs that are provided by the
government that enables the classroom through free Wi-Fi. And with that they are also
providing students with the selection of the technology based on their learning and the
projects . Adding to that designing the online cl;classroom for the students with the
schedules calender of the test and exam dates.
 Provide up to date technology - To cope up with the regular changes with the
technology makes it impossible for the student to update current technology. There are
the schemes of the government and by the private sector also as they provide top trends
technology because it is important to integrate technology for the better future of the
students and with the help of better access to the technology makes student efficient in
their working and learning .
 Technical security- There us need to provide enough resources that provides protection
to the information and the systems from the unauthorized accessibility by the people.
Because there is issue of disruptions or the destructions and to solve this problem ,it
requires constant learning and the business for the education in terms of maintaining
security and privacy.
 Ensuring technology and infrastructure that can cope up with the increased
demands- By making sure that the tools of learning are flexible and easy to use which

delivering services that fulfils the demands of the students and the teachers. And there is
also a problem that at some places there is lack of adequate instructional technology and
at some places there are huge flow of technology so, by making balance between both of
them is the current need in the education sector.
 Make budget in order to maintain- There has to be proper allocation of budget in terms
of technology as budget limitations are particularly challenging and to overcome from
these issues proves to be powerful tool in the education. As simply adopting these
