Business re-engineering process is a strategy used for the management of any type of
business. The process is used by the organization to achieve a radical change within the
organization. In addition to this, the organization is required to set up environment with them
that would assist the company in achievement of a successful re-engineering process. This is
important for the organization in a sense that, the organization has to rethink about the process
that already exist in the company and would have to amend the faulty procedure that exist in the

system (Stadtler 2015).. This re-engineering process helps company in various departments such
as customer services and operational costs. This can happen by reducing the operation costs of
the company and by improving the satisfaction level of the customer (Braglia and Forsolini
2014). The main areas of the company that would be considered for re-engineering are marketing
and production of the company.
Answer to question number (b)
The re-engineering process can take place in two ways;
Constrained Re-engineering and Clean slate Re-engineering
1. Constrained re-engineering: In constrained re-engineering the process of re-engineering
method is implmeneted by making some modification to the already existing system in
the company. The main advantage of this system is that this system can be implemented
at a much faster rate and with a very moderate financial requirement. The main
disadvantage of the system is that the company would require a lot of change and there
has to be being considerable amount of change in the organizational structure of the
company.
2. Clean-slate re-engineering: The clean-slate re-engineering process enables the
organization to redesign the entire structure of their business from scratch. The main
advantage of this is that they are not required to make any changes for the organizational
structure of the company. The main disadvantage is that the time and finance required for
the implementation is more.
