INTRODUCTION
Digital age skills can be determined as all those skills which are essential for individuals
for having the ability to develop new knowledge with the new basic combined with the 21st
century skills like critical thinking, creativity, innovation, problem solving etc. Internet play an
essential role in facilitating businesses and society by providing various services for
communications in a much convenient manner. This study involves a comparison between the
negative and positive usage of internet by the businesses and society. This report also includes
the threats that are being faced by organization and society from the usage of internet with the
measures of privacy and security that is to be taken by the users for being safe while using
applications and services of internet. Lastly, this report consist two different type of unified
communication providers which are compared by their features, applications with discussion of
their suitability for the business.
1. Compare and contrast the impact of use of internet.
Internet is now becoming which is almost use by anyone. Internet is a very useful in
making people's lives more convenient in this modern society. Organization who want to become
more productive, internet offers them different opportunity in pursuing goals. People in
developing and emerging nations, the increased use of internet is becoming a good influence in
the field of personal relationship, economy and education(Amaghionyeodiwe and Annansingh-
Jamieson, 2017).
Positive effect .
 Easy to made research: There is more and more information available on internet. For
organization and individual now become easier to made research related to their studies,
hobbies videos, articles(Nandini, 2017). In addition to this anyone can watch TV shows,
movie, videos, music from all the sources. Able to watch different events of sports,
updated with sport scores and even talk with senior executives by using internet.
 Work from home: Now it is possible to earn by providing work online by writing, by
clicking on advertisements on the internet and filling up forms. Advertisement posted
online helps the seller and manufacturers in increasing the possibility of having their
products purchased by consumer.
 Business transactions becomes faster and cheaper product: Seller and buyer can able
complete their transaction using online payment facility like Google pay, Paytm. Buyer

through online surfing can select the product which they want to buy. Internet reduces the
need of physical stores because through internet product can be directly shipped from
the factory(Nandini, 2017).
 Save the travel cost: With the ease of sitting in the conference room, using internet. This
saves a lot of time and travelling costs. No more requirement of purchase of costly air
tickets in travel of business meetings.
 Communication become faster with family, friends and relatives: Moving away from
home can be stressful, but with the use of internet get connected with relatives, friends
and family members all over the world. Using internet able to send pictures, emails and
face to face communication makes easier to keep in contact(Nandini, 2017).
Negative effect of internet
 Children, young adults get addicted to online games: in contrast to positive effect of
internet which is easy to research but because of these children, adults getting addicted to
online games. Many children spent all of their time in playing games on internet instead
of playing outside. This can lost precious time which can be used in doing something
more productive. The addiction also become reason of some health issues like low
eyesight, back pain(Amaghionyeodiwe and Annansingh-Jamieson, 2017).
 Loss of human touch: With the use of internet facility people started work from home,
but they get less interacted with their family members, co workers and friends. People
get absorbed in their online activities because of this they forgot the interaction with real
people in their surroundings.
 Criminal elements use information: Internet made the business transaction faster but there
are unsuspected internet users those hack the information available on internet. This will
cause increase the rate of fraud and stealing of important information of security
numbers and password of credit and debit cards(Nandini, 2017).
 Abandonment of family: Communication becomes easy but sensitivity with their family
member is reduced because they are absorbed with the hidden hand of internet . This
problem can affect to both women and men.
The effects of the internet on society or organization affect positively and negatively, for
getting benefits from this technology manage it properly. There is requirement of making sure
that internet security is placed properly for prevention of negative effects of internet.

Internet allows more creativity in organization and society than ever before. Cybercriminals are
also discovering new ways for tapping most sensitive networks in the world. Protection of
business data become a challenge but awareness is the first step(Fleisch, Weinberger and
Wortmann, 2015).
Weak security of technology: everyday new technology is released. All new gadgets have
different form of internet assess but there is no plan for security. The rapid development of
technology is beneficial for innovators but there are several security issues.
Neglecting proper configuration: organisations neglecting the imporatance of properly
configured security settings. Some big data tool comes with the ability of customisation which fit
to the organisation's needs.
Outdated security software: Updated security software is a technology management practice
and for protection of data it is a mandatory step. Software is developed to defend known threats.
Measures of security and privacy :
Privacy and security of personal data and organizational data which are available on internet.
This the broad term which refers the techniques, factors and technologies used for protection of
sensitive and private data, preferences and communications(Jamaluddin and et.al., 2015).
Password protection: Using complex, unique password by combining the letters of lower and
upper case, symbols and numbers by organization and individuals helps in maintaining privacy
of data.
Use anti viruses: digital security required lot of digital privacy. If the computer is get infected
by virus then hacker use the data, but they lock up the files. For protecting this organisation and
society people required to install antivirus on their computers.
Back up of data: The only way to ensure there is data backup availability for retrieving the lost
data on a regular basis. If there is accidentality delete some data it can be recovered easily if
there is backup available of data(Laudon and Traver, 2016).
Only use trusted software: whenever installing new software on computer always make sure
that get it from trusted source. Always make sure that anything downloaded comes from a trusted
source and developer(Jamaluddin and et.al., 2015).
Using secure Wi-Fi connections: Always take extra security measures whenever browsing the
website and logging into any account. Use VPN service for encryption of all the data send.

Avoid clicking on attachments and links: cybercriminals using tricks hack the data when
anyone clicking on links while related to banks, tax services and other private information
related to individual and organisation. It is better to enter manually the URL of the organisation.

development, enterprise resource planning(ERP), supply chain management and customer
relationship management. It ecompasses security features, reliability, collaboration services,
flexible access mechanisms(Graham and Dutton, 2019). Streamlining and syncing all the
communication methods within the business to save time and money instantly.
Application of oracle :- Oracle is having applicability in the field of developing software or
business software that is using by oracle corporation. In this different applications are used such
as oracle human capital management, enterprise resource planning(ERP), customer experience
etc. these application help in evaluating operational efficiency of the company and building
productivity for the future. As supply chain management will be used by oracle for enhancing its
business that will help in increasing profitability of business. Performance can be measured by
different management applications that is used by business. It also helps in developing customer
relationship management as by interacting with consumer for the purpose of providing its
services into the market.

increase effectiveness and providing business change for evaluating performance by measuring

Back up and recovery: It provides support for industrial strength for online recovery and backup
and software for Fault tolerance for disk failure. Organization need to store the space and

Performances: even with large database Oracle database and application is quit good. Its

From the above study conclude that the there are some pros and cons which effects the
excessive use of internet on society and organization by making clear comparison between these
effects. Protection from threat when using internet is required for safety of data while surfing
internet sites. Some preventive measures are used for security and privacy while using internet.
This protects the personal and confidential information. Microsoft and oracle two unified
communication providers explain the detailed review of digital communication skills with their
features, applications and advantages in sing this. In the intern ate age a secure protection of data
required for safe custody of information shred through internet. When using internet share some
confidential information related to bank detail, login detail, documents details which required
secure protection. In this digital age internet makes the work easier but there is also drawbacks
with this in respect of security and privacy errors.
